I'm sitting on the floor, sketching and thinking. It just feels better down here.
I need to design our wedding ring—something meaningful, something that holds a piece of us.
Jungkook is downstairs. He is making us some hot chocolate.
I stay focused, lost in my drafts, reworking lines, adjusting details.
A little while later, Jungkook returns with two mugs in his hands.
"Babe, why are you sitting on the cold floor? There's a table—you can use it," he says, his brows slightly furrowed.
"It's not cold," I insist. "I warm up when I think! And I'm excited too."
He sets the mugs on the table. Without another word, he grabs the comforter from the bed and spreads it over the floor.
I pause my sketching to watch him.
"Sit on this, babe," he says, helping me settle onto the soft fabric. Then, he gently places my drawing paper back in front of me. "You can still draw like this."
"Thanks," I murmur, touched by the small gesture.
He sits beside me, picking up one of the mugs. "Take a break. Your hot chocolate."
I take a sip. The warmth spreads through me. Jungkook sips his too, but then his nose scrunches slightly.
"Oh? I smell caffeine in yours. Did you get coffee?"
"I know you love coffee," he admits, "but I want you to rest well. You're pregnant, too. Coffee won't be good for you."
I giggle. "Okay," I say, taking another sip.
Jungkook picks up my drawing, examining it closely. I feel a little embarrassed and grin sheepishly.
"It looks stupid, right? I'm not done yet," I mumble.
He shakes his head. "No. Let me understand it first."
I hesitate before exhaling. "Okay, so... I was thinking of something more than just a plain band." I point to my sketch. "See this part? I want our initials subtly engraved inside, but on the outside... I thought about intertwining two different metals—like gold and platinum—because it represents us. Different, but inseparably connected."
Jungkook's lips curl into a small smile. "That's beautiful," he murmurs, his thumb brushing over the page. "And what about this design here?"
I trace my finger over a small detail on my sketch. "I want to engrave something personal—something from the first time we met."
Jungkook leans back slightly, a smirk tugging at his lips. "You mean when I was sitting in the car in front of your house?"
I laugh. "Yeah."
He tilts his head, eyes narrowing playfully. "And what's so special about that?" His voice is teasing, but I know better. He's told me before that it was never a mistake—he had been there intentionally.
"We met, Jungkook." I grin. "That's special enough."
His smirk softens. "Then tell me... what's unforgettable about it?"
I don't even have to think. "Your eyes."
Jungkook goes quiet.
I hold his gaze, my voice lowering. "I don't know if you ever really watched me before we met that day. But when I looked at you up close for the first time, your eyes... they were intense. Cold, but captivating. You were beautiful."
