I'm sitting at a table outside the convenience store, watching Jungkook prepare ramen inside. A smile tugs at my lips. The sight of him, so familiar and effortless, brings back memories of our old times.

We're dating again...

My cheeks flush, and I bite my lower lip to stop myself from grinning. Maybe I'm crazy for holding on to those memories, but it's the reason I still want to be with him.

Soon, Jungkook finishes and walks toward me, two cups of ramen in hand. He sets one in front of me and the other in front of himself.

"I'm getting drinks. What do you want?" he asks.

"Hmm... Can I have a beer?" I reply, glancing up at him.

He goes silent for a moment.

"Just one can. I won't get drunk. Probably just tipsy. And even if I do get drunk, you'll be here with me," I say with a playful giggle.

He nods and heads back inside the store.

Not long later, he returns with the drinks and some snacks. I keep smiling, but the grin fades slightly when I see he's brought me a bottle of orange juice instead of beer.

He sits down in front of me and starts eating his ramen.

I stare at him, unable to hide my disappointment.

He notices and looks at me, his expression innocent. "What?"

I narrow my eyes at him, then burst out, "I told you I wanted beer!" My tone is sulky, but there's a hint of amusement beneath it.

He stays quiet, just looking at me.

"You're not getting it because you don't love me anymore, right?" I pout, crossing my arms. "That's why you're not getting me what I want."

He shakes his head, unfazed. "You're not feeling well. You shouldn't drink."

"But I feel fine now," I argue. "Really, I do."

He shakes his head again. "No, you don't. You just got better. It's not good to drink yet." He picks up some tteokbokki and adds it to my ramen. "Eat. Your ramen's getting cold."

"No, Jungkook. I lied about not feeling well earlier. My body wasn't hot. I just wanted your attention because we haven't cuddled enough," I admit, my voice softening.

He gives me a nonchalant "Um."

I frown. "'Um'? That's all you have to say?"

"Um, babe. Just please don't drink," he says gently, but firmly.

"Hmm... okay," I give in with a sigh, then glance down at my ramen. I don't understand. He really doesn't want me to drink. It feels strange, almost like he's worried about me in a way I can't fully grasp.

Maybe he's just worried about my health and doesn't believe that I was lying.

I regret mentioning that I was sick.

I pick up my chopsticks and start eating the ramen. It tastes so good—so much better than I remember. It's been too long since I've had this.

When the tteokbokki in my ramen bowl runs out, Jungkook adds more, pausing just long enough for me to catch his gesture.

"Thanks," I murmur, then continue eating.

Jungkook's phone rings, distracting me. He answers the call, his tone serious but quiet.

I stop eating and watch him.

"Got it, will head home," Jungkook says, ending the call.

I furrow my brow. I didn't catch the other side of the conversation, but I'm curious.
