(Hey, guys! I'm finally at a point where I'm done making changes to the story. Not much has changed, but feel free to re-read it. At this point, it's pretty much going to be totally original content until Marvel puts out more content that will fit with Dri's timeline. Happy reading and thank you to all who have waited so patiently for me to continue this story!)
This chapter contains spoilers for Loki season 2.
My head begins snapping around. I could've sworn I hear Loki just now. Loki? I reach out. I try to feel his presence, but he's not here. It's been months since I've heard his voice in my head. Looking out the window, I see a Halloween sale promotional poster at the craft store across the street. Memories pop into my head.
"Alright, go on up," I say with a smile. Adam jumps and takes off, running up to the large house. Loki looks over at me and I smile at him. "That sweater suits you," I say, nudging him with my elbow. The grey and green Slytherin sweater compliments his skin tone.
He smiles back at me. "And that's... An outfit," He tries to compliment, but I can tell he doesn't like my costume."
I make a dramatic pose. "What? You dont like my mustache?" I stroke the fake mustache on my face. His eyes look disturbed and concerned. I laugh, the fake metal dangling from my jacket rattles. Adam runs back up. "Whatcha get?"
He pulls out a candy bar. "SNICKERS!" He screams at the top of his lungs.
My phone buzzes on the table next to me. I answer it and raise it up to my ear. "Hello?" There's just a long silence and then the call ends. I try to look at my call history, but my phone dies. With a sigh, I roll my head and close my laptop. I pack my things up and head out the door of the cafe, throwing my cup away in the process. I reach my car and decide to go home. I start my car. All of a sudden, there's a loud sound and a scream.
"I HATE THAT!" I jump a snap my head to the side.
"LOKI?!" I yell, staring at the face in front of me.
"Dri! I need your help. You're the smartest person I know and I feel like my heads going to explode."
My eyes dart all over the face of the man I love. "Y-You're... You're dead! But you're here?! What the fuck is happening?! You look..." I see the stress written all over his face.
"Stressed. I know. There's no time."
"But... But..." Shock rattles my body.
Loki speaks super fast. "I died on the ship to Earth by Thanos. You begged Bruce Banner, the rage monster, to bring me back. He told you no. But, here I am. Alive. We've been through this." I just stare at him. "It'll just help if I show you." All of a sudden, he grabs my shoulder and pulls me in, putting one hand on my forehead.
LOKI'S POV (Shortly after arriving at the TVA. This is the season 1 setting of Loki. No time skipping, no time loom explosion. This is when we first see him at the TVA for the first time {The timeline of this can get confusing})
I sit and look at the projection of the Avengers. I begin messing with the controls, watching what my life would've become. Watching my father's death brings tears to my eyes. I see my brother and I reconcile to save Asgard. I watch my death, as I attempt to save the whole Nine Realms. When that woman returns, I try to escape. To go back. To do things differently.
Soon, Mobius returns. "Loki? Nowhere left to run."
"I can't go back, can I?" I say, defeated. "Back to my timeline." Mobius just looks at me, an apologetic look on his face. "I don't enjoy hurting people. I... I don't enjoy it. I do it because I have to. Because I've had to."
