Entirely Pissed Off

I sit at the tables, eating a very light breakfast of various fruits. "Have you seen the plays yet?"

"The what?" I snap my head up to the man that sat beside me.

"The plays. We do them every other day."

The entire dining hall is empty. "What are they about?"

"What do you think? With the big statue and everything."

I narrow my eyes at Fandral. "What big statue?"

"You haven't seen that either?" I shake my head. "Odin had it put up. It's hard to miss."

"What is it?"

He scoffs. "You'll just have to see it. Come on." He grabs my hand and pulls me up.

"W-Wait!" I turn back to the table that has the texture of a peach, color of a satsuma, and taste of a mango. Asgard has some unique foods like mani berries,  but also standard cattle like Midgard. "Let's rock and roll," I shoot him a finger gun and he gives me a confused look. Laughing, he just shakes his head and grabs my wrist, pulling me behind him. We run out of the castle and through the nearby market place. We abruptly stop and he points up. I look up at the tall, golden Loki statue. "Whoa, okay."

He laughs. "Yeah, soon after word spread about Loki's sacrifice to save Thor, the people of Asgard worked together to make sure his memory isn't tainted. Polished every week, believe it or not."

I remember what Heimdall told me.

"Heimdall?"

"We need to talk."

I rise out of bed and look at the wise man. "About?"

"Odin."

"What about him?" I make room on my bed and he sits.

"It's not him."

I furrow my brows. "What do you mean?"

"It's not Odin."

"Who is it then?"

There's a loud knock on the door. "Miss. Iverdottir, are you alright?"

I climb off the bed and open the door a crack. "Yeah. Just an awful dream." I think for a second. "What are you doing out here?"

"Odin's direct orders that a protective watch is placed on you."

"But why?"

"Some of your previous allies has betrayed the throne. He is afraid they might try to contact you." I turn back to my bed to see it empty. The wind softly blows through my window, swaying my curtains. I turn back to the guard. "Are you sure you're alone?"

"I'm positive. I'd know if there was someone in my chambers."

"Orders were to search the area upon suspicious activity. Pardon me," He pushes open my door, forcing me to step back.

I throw my hands up. "I don't know what the fuss is about? I'm all alone!" I yell when he opens my wardrobe. He pulls open the drawer beneath it. "You think someone is hiding in my underwear?" I reply, snark heavy in my voice.

The guard blushes and slams the drawer shut. "My apologies." He walks back towards my bathroom before walking back to the front door.

"I told you I was alone." I cross my arms and lean against the door frame. "Can you leave now?" I point down the hallway.
