I walk into the computerized room. I see Dr. Banner and Mr. Stark. "How did your theory pan out, Dr. Iverdottir?" Banner looks at me.
"Please, call me Dri. Not as expected."
Mr. Stark walks around the room, "what was it you were testing?"
I sigh and rub my brow. "I've known Loki for a while now. He's different. He's... Cold," I find myself staring at the floor. I feel Mr. Stark and Dr. Banner starting at me. I take a deep breath and look up, "He's not working alone. There's someone else."
"Thunder Strike did say the, uh... Chituni..." Mr. Stark looks confused.
"The Chitauri. No. There's someone else." I look around. "I haven't eaten in two days. Do you guys mind?" I wave my hands and make my bag appear. They both exchange glances. "Ah, right. Probably not the best idea to use magic when we're holding a Master of Magic. My apologies. It's just been a rough... Lifetime." I laugh softly and open my bag, pulling out the small load of soft bread I brought with me from Asgard. I take a small piece off and eat it, offering it to the two in front of me. They both refuse. I shrug and place the bread back in the bag. My eyes lock on to the scepter. "Mm! May I?" I point to it. Without waiting for an answer, I hover my hand over it. I suck in a breath and pull my hand back.
"Something wrong?" I look up at Mr. Stark, who's eyeing me suspiciously.
"I feel... Uncomfortable. There's a lot of power coming from it... I don't..." I shake my head. "I need to take notes." I reach into my bag and pull out the notebook I've been filling with everything strange and unfamiliar. I had hoped it'd help me find Loki, that maybe he wasn't dead. The two still just watch me. "Midgardian habits die hard." I laugh, flipping through a lot of full pages. Once on a free, blank one, I feel around for a pen. Under my breath I say, "Goddamn Asgardian clothes. No pockets." I hear someone clear their throat. I look up to see Dr. Banner handing me a pen. I begin drawing the scepter. I hold my notebook in one hand and write with the other.
"Ow!" I'm snapped out of my thoughts. I look up to see Mr. Stark closely eyeing Dr. Banner.
"Hey!"
"Nothin'?"
"Are you nuts?" I look up to see Captian America walking in.
"Jury's out. You really have got a lid on it, haven't you? What's your secret? Mellow jazz, bongo drums, huge bag of weed?"
"Is everything a joke to you?"
"Funny things are."
"Threatening the safety f everybody on this ship isn't funny." Captain America looks at Dr. Banner. "No offense, Doc."
Banner chuckles. "I-Its alright. I wouldn't have come aboard if I couldn't handle pointy things."
I got back to my writing, listening to the conversation. "You're tiptoeing, big man. You need to strut."
"And you need to focus on the problem, Mr. Stark."
"You think I'm not? Why did Fury call us in? Why now? Why not before? What isn't he telling us? I can't do the equation unless I have all of the variables."
"You think Fury's hiding something?"
"He's a spy. Captian, he's the spy. His secrets have secrets. It's bugging him too, innit?"
I look up at a very uncomfortable Banner. "Uhhh-I just wanna finish my work here, and-"
"Doctor?"
Banner sighs then takes off his glasses. "'A warm light for all of mankind'. Loki's jab at Fury about the cube."
"I heard it."
