Day 2

I take a deep breath, staring in the mirror. "Auntie Dri?" Anthony's voice echos through the bathroom door.

"What is it, sweetie?" I ask, opening the door. I'm met with the small boy's red, puffy face.

"I had a dream about mommy and daddy."

"Aw, honey." I hug the small boy. "You know, I had an idea."

"What?"

"It's a surprise. Get your shoes on, okay?"

He nods and runs off. I turn the light off and leave the bathroom. I walk up to Adam's room. I knock on the door. "It's open."

I push the door open and look at my brother, who's on the bed. He sets his phone down and sits up to talk to me. "Don't forget that I'm coming to your school tomorrow, so I'll drive you in the morning. I'll also be stopping by Anthony's, so if you want me to check you out, I can, okay. Louise and I would like your help at the home as well."

"Okay."

He hasn't talked to me much at all since what happened. Granted, I haven't been very vocal either. "Adam and I are going out for ice cream and pizza if you want to come. It's a surprise, so don't tell him." He doesn't respond. I look over at his photo wall.

My eyes land on the one with him and Peter on a school bus. "We were coming back from a field trip to MoMa when we took that. 3 days ago."

I close my eyes and sigh. "We're doing everything we can."

"Are you?" I look back to see the broken look on his face.

"We are." I take a deep breath and rise off the bed. "We'll be heading out to the car in five." I leave his room, walking into my own across the hall. I open my closet door and my eyes land on the section of grey and black clothes that are way too big to fit me. I smile softly, running my fingers over the fabric. I grab one of the shirts off the hanger. I get dressed in Loki's black t-shirt tucked into a pair light wash denim shorts with a pair of converse. I haven't been using my magic for any basic tasks, focusing it all on trying to find Tony. Pepper asked me to keep a look out. I grab my wallet off my dresser before leaving my room. My phone vibrates in my back pocket. Reading the text, I walk into the living room. Locking my phone once again, ignoring the message, I look up at the two boys on the couch. "Let's go," I smile at them, grabbing my keys off the hook.

I sit, glancing out of the window. "And then the superhero jumps off the roof and saves everyone from the bank robbers." I listen to Anthony tell the story of a comic book he read.

"Oh, yeah? Then what did he do?" Adam asks, not interested, but pretending to be.

"He goes home and continues being his rich self. He has an entire lair UNDER his mansion."

I glance across the street. I narrow my eyes at a familiar face. My heart stops. "Loki?... Adam, watch him. I'll be right back." I rush out of the pizzeria. As I run across the street, cars honk at me. When I reach where I saw him, he's nowhere to be found. "Loki?" I spin in circles, trying to locate the man I love. People begin to stop and stare. My eyes land back on the small building, to see both boys watching me from outside the window. I walk back to them. I notice the angry, disappointed look on Adam's face. "Adam, I-"

"I'm taking a cab home." With that, he walks out.

"Why'd he leave?"

I sigh and look back at the young boy. "How about we go Camillie's, huh? Get some ice cream? Anything you want."
