"Dri, please talk to me."
I stop in my tracks. "You ask too many questions."
"Rightfully so." He keeps walking closer.
I turn on my toes, facing Loki, my figure just a few inches from his. "You don't want to know. Trust me."
"But I do. I want to know why you won't let me close. You were the one who said you wanted things to be like they were before, on Earth."
"Well, I was foolish to think that could happen."
"Forgive me." He grabs my wrist and pulls me into him, his other hand landing on my forehead. I feel Loki poking around in my mind, my memories. I'm forced to relive one of the worst moments in my life again. Once Loki pulls out of my mind, I feel weak in my knees. I lean against him, gasping for breath. He softly shushes me, running his hand through my hair. "It's okay. You're okay. You're safe now. I've got you." I start crying into his chest. "I've got you..."
I don't know how long I was crying into his arms, but when I finally stop, my face hurts, my eyes are puffy, and my throat feels shredded. "Loki..." I softly say.
"Yeah?"
"Thank you," I look up at him, wrapping my arms around him. He looks down at me, tears in his eyes. I didn't even know he was crying. I reach up and wipe his tears. "Thank you." I look into his beautiful eyes. Our faces inch closer. I notice everyone walking past, not saying anything. Not even looking. I pull back. "Are... Are we... Invisible?"
He pulls back, a small glint of disappointment covers his face. As soon as it shows, it's gone. "Of course. Don't want everyone ogling us, right?"
I smile softly. "You're right." He thinks for a moment. "What's on your mind?"
"No more secrets?"
"No more secrets."
"Promise?"
"Promise."
I stand in the shower, singing Loser by Beck to myself. I am thankful to the Grandmaster for having such fancy ships. Once I shut off the water and get dressed for the day, I walk out if my personal room. "Oh, good. You're out of the shower."
I jump, startled. "How did you know I was in the shower?" I turn to Loki.
"Our rooms are next to each other and the only time you sing is in the shower."
I sigh, knowing he's right. "Wh-... We're you waiting on me?"
"Of course."
Rolling my eyes, I cross my arms. "You don't have to escort me everywhere. I'm safe on this ship."
"That's what everyone says when they're not safe."
"Did you steal my portable DVD player again?" He darts his eyes away. "Give it back." I hold out my hand.
"Fine. I didn't want it anyways." He conjures the device and sets it in my hands. I open my door again and toss it inside. "Breakfast, then. Shall we?" He gestures down the hall. I nod and hold my arm out. He begins leading me through the winding halls.
"Wait..." We passing the dining area. "Breakfast is that way," I say, pointing to the room full of people.
"No, I distinctly remember breakfast being this way." He's up to something. I just follow his lead. We end up in a room I haven't seen before. It's almost completely windows. I look out at the galaxy around me while he let's go of my arm.
Loki clears his throat, drawing my attention to the center of the room. "Loki, what is this?"
"Breakfast." He sits down on the blanket in the middle of the floor. I smile and join him. "I call it breakfast, but you can only do so much with space food."
I alugh softly. "This isn't like you. Did you get into my romcom collection?"
"I perhaps watched a few. I thought you'd like something like this."
"I love it, but Loki, this isn't me and it certainly isn't you."
He opens his mouth to protest, but nods in agreement instead. "You're right. This was foolish." He goes to stand.
"No!" I grab his arm. He turns to me and slowly sits back down. "I love it. Thank you."
We both being eating, completely silent. After we finish our meal, we have nothing to talk about. "You're right. This isn't us." He stands and helps me to my feet.
A smirk crosses my face since both of his hands are in mine. I sweep one leg out from under him before dropping him to the ground. "My, Loki. You've gotten weak." I put one foot on his right shoulder while holding his left arm up and close to my body, keeping him pinned to the ground.
"And you've gotten sloppy," he grabs my ankle and pulls it up while using his other elbow to knock out my knee. I fall to the ground. "I win." I stop for a minute before bursting into laughter. Loki chuckles softly, standing up from the ground. He stands over me, offering me a hand. I grab it and pull him back down. I push him onto his back and sit on his torso, pinning him down.
I look down at him, his wrists in my hands. "Nah, I think I win this one."
"Dri, Thor is looking for you. Ah, so sorry to interrupt." I look up to see Korg standing in the doorway. I feel Loki's hand move to my hip because my grip loosened from being distracted.
I laugh again. "Be right there, Korg. Only be a minute."
"Yeah, no. Thor wants you now."
I sigh and dip my head. "Alright." As I stand, I feel Loki's hand run down my leg. "Hey, keep your hand to yourself, bud," I whisper to Loki. "Don't need Korg here spreading rumors that aren't true." He mumbles something. "What?"
"Nothing."
I want to press him about it, but Thor gets antsy if you leave him waiting for too long. "Your brother awaits." I walk over to Korg. "Hey, Rock Man!" I elbow him. "My main man! My guy!" He glances at me. "We still up for Connect 4 later?"
"Thor broke it."
I gasp, "No."
"Yeah, shattered it to bits. Scared Miek half to death. I guess he really hates losing."
I sit with Thor in the small room. "Yes?" I finally break the long silence.
"Many of the Asgardians don't know the ways of Earth."
"That is very true."
"I want you to teach them."
I blink for a second. "What?"
"Not alone. Loki and I will assist, seeing as we both lived on Earth."
"I can't really-... I'm not a-..."
"Then it's settled. You'll do lessons every other day."
"But I-" I see the look on Thor's face. "Alright."
"Thank you, Dri." I nod and stand. "I promise this won't cut into your alone time with Loki."
"Wh-What? Alone time? Psh! There is- N-Nah!" Silence falls between us. Thor gives me a know smirk. "Alright, bye!" I rush out of the room. My face a bright shade of red, I facepalm, hiding my embarrassment. I don't know how I'm going to handle the next few months in such a close space with Thor's knowing smirks and Loki's thought-filled side glances.
