Missing you

* Katniss Pov*

"I am in the meadow of district 12 with Willow in my arms. I see Peeta in the distance, but he told me he had a shift at the bakery today. I decide to walk towards him and confront him. I realize that he is actually with someone. "Its Delly"  When he see's me he doesn't try to act like it was a coincidence, he just starts laughing. What is wrong with you! I yell. Did you really think he loved you Katniss? She asks me. I say nothing I just look them both up and down. I'm tired of dealing with you, your not even pretty, I don't even like our child because she looks so much like you. He says. What! You said you loved her, Peeta. You always tell me how much she meant to you, and how much you wanted to be a father. Yeah, I was lying. I already got Delly pregnant, our child will be much better than that one. He says. I have no words, I just start crying. He starts kissing her, and I begin to scream. They both just laugh"

I scream and thrash around in my sheets. I cry into my knees wishing Peeta was here to comfort me, but no he is in 12 with Delly. 

Katniss are you okay? Haymitch says bursting through the door with a knife in his hand. 

No, I want Peeta. I cry. 

Then call him Katniss, didn't he tell you to if you had a nightmare? 

Yes, how'd you know that. I ask. 

He called me and told me. He tells me. 

Oh. I say. 

Just please call him sweetheart, he wont mind I promise. He reassures me. 

Okay. I reply. 

Haymitch leaves the room, and I dial in his number on my phone. It takes a minute for him to answer, but he eventually does. 

Kat? He says in a sleepy voice. 

Hi. I say quietly. 

Are you okay, did you have a nightmare. He asks worriedly. 

Yes Peeta, I miss you. I say letting a tear fall down my face.

I miss you too darling. He says. 

Do you? I reply thinking of my dream with him and Delly kissing right in front of my face as if I wasn't even there. 

Of course I do. Why would you think that I didn't? He asks. 

Cause all you care about is Delly. I say picking at my finger nails.

What? He says in a loud voice. 

In my dream you were kissing her, and saying how you didn't love me or Willow. 

Katniss, I would never do that. You mean so much to me, not to mention you are so smart, kindhearted, and beautiful. 

Delly is none of those things. He says

He has always been really good with words. 

Do you mean it? I ask. 

Yes Katniss I mean it I would never love Delly, I will only ever love you. He says.  

Okay good. I say. 

He chuckles. 

I feel a little better now. I say to him. 

Okay good, if you miss me again look in your bag. He tells me. 

I get up from bed and I rummage around, and I see a book with a picture of me and Peeta's wedding. 

What is this Peeta? I ask. 

It is a book with 31 notes that I wrote for you. You can read one every day until it is time for you to come home. He says

There is also a couple notes in the very back if you have nightmares.

Peeta. I whisper. 

You didn't have to do this. I say. 

I know, but I wanted to so the month would go by faster. He says. 

Thank you. I say. 

No problem Kat.

I yawn and my eyes slowly start to get heavy. 

The last thing I hear before falling asleep is Peeta telling me he loves me, and then the line goes dead.

I wake up by the sound of Haymitch screaming at me to wake up. I rub my eyes and I check the time. Its 7:20 AM. 

My session is at 8:00, so I need to start getting ready. 

Haymitch is still banging on the door. 

WOULD YOU STOP. I shout. 

I've been trying to get you up for the past 5 minutes, how does Peeta deal with you. He says. 

 How does Effie deal with you. I roll my eyes. 

Just shut up and get ready we're leaving in 25 minutes. He tells me whilst slamming the door shut. 

I braid my hair down my back and I put on a fuzzy cream coat with a white long sleeve underneath. It's freezing in the winter. 

I grab the book off my nightstand, and I turn to the first page. 

"Hello Kat, I know your first session is today. I hope it all goes well, and if it doesn't its okay. Make sure to call me after. Just remember no matter how hard things get just know they do get better. He is a great person, and I am sure you will love him. If you get stressed make sure not to swing on him. I love you, and good luck. Love Peeta."

I laugh whilst reading the note. I slip the book back into my nightstand drawer. I put on my ring and the necklace Peeta got me. 

I slip on some boots and I decide to call Peeta before I leave. 

Morning Kat. He says. 

Good morning. I say in return. 

I just wanted to call you before I leave. I say. 

Alright no problem, I hope the session goes well, and make sure to call me after. He says. 

Okay, I will. 

Did you eat? He asks. 

Yep. I lie. 

What did you eat. He asks knowing i'm lying. 

Uh, I had some.. pancakes. I stutter. 

Katniss, you cant cook, how the hell did you make pancakes. He asks. 

Fine I didn't. 

Okay, please just eat some cereal so your not starving. He says. 

Fine. 

I hear Willow start to cry over the phone and Peeta is struggling to calm her down.

Well, I got to go Katniss, but please eat. He pleads. 

Okay love you, bye. I say. 

Love you too. He says.

I hang up the phone and eat a couple bites of cereal.

After I'm finished eating Haymitch and I get in our rental car so he can drop me off at Dr. Aurelius's office. 

"I hope this goes well"
