Farewell, Capitol

*Katniss Pov*

I wake up and I check the date. It is March 23. I am able to go home today I have one more session with Dr. Aurelius. 

If i'm being honest this month has helped me grow significantly, but I cannot wait to get back to Peeta. 

Oh how I crave his touch, and being wrapped up in my husbands arms. 

I also miss my baby girl more than anything and I feel like I have missed so much of her life already. 

I know it was only one month, but she only stays a baby for a while.

I decide to get up and start getting ready for my session. I braid my hair down my back and read a quote from the book Peeta made me. 

"Loved you yesterday, love you still, always have, I will for ever and always."  

I smile at the note and below it is a picture from our wedding. He has a dot of frosting on his nose and we are feeding each other cake. 

I close the book and braid my hair down my back. I walk down the hall to Haymitch's room and knock on his door to see if he's awake. 

"Haymitch?...Are you up?" "Yes sweetheart, are you leaving?" 

"Yeah right now" "Okay did you get something to eat?" "No, but I will just make some cereal really quick" 

"Okay sounds good, have a good session." I smile and shut his door. I do as told and go make myself a bowl of cereal. 

After I am finished I get in the car and start the engine. Once i'm one the road I call Peeta to talk to him. 

"Good morning Darling" "Morning"

"What are you doing right now?" I ask him

"Nothing much just making breakfast, are you on your way to your session?" 

"Yep I am, and I cannot wait to be home." 

"I can't wait either darling"

"Alright i'm here so I gotta go, but i'll call you back later." 

"Okay goodbye Kat I love you" "Love you too" 

I hang up the phone grab my bag and walk into the mental hospital. I check in and I go to Dr. Aurelius office.

"Hello Katniss!" 

"Hey Dr. Aurelius."

"I'm sure your excited to get back home, but we still have two more sessions." 

"Yep, I am very excited to get home" 

"Okay today we are going to be going over the note book filled with the list of goals you set for your future self after this month."  

"Now obviously some of these you will have to wait to see if you truly did accomplish these goals, but today we will look over the ones that we can see is true right now." 

"One of those goals is feeling less empty inside, do you think you accomplished that goal?" 

"Yes, I do feel much better than I did the start of this month, but I know i'll probably feel better when I am back with Peeta." 

"Yes of course"

Throughout the whole session we talk about the goals I set for myself and then he gives me the notebook to see what other goals I can accomplish. 

"Well I guess this is goodbye Katniss, take care love" 

"You too, thank you for everything you have done for me."  

I embrace him, and I truly do not know how to repay this man. He has done so much for me and my husband. 

I walk out of the office and I drive back happily. Tomorrow I have to wake up at  5:00 AM to catch my train. 

Once I get back I pack up my room and anything else we had in the house. I get all my clothes together and pack them in my suitcase.

"Haymitch have you packed up yet?" I yell from across the house. "Almost done sweetheart"

All that's going through my head is how I cannot wait to be home, and I honestly can hardly focus on anything else.

*The morning Katniss leaves*

I wake up and rub my eyes. I check the time to see that it is already 5:30. "Oh shit" I whisper. My train leaves at 6:05. 

It takes at least 25 minutes to get there, and I would have to leave NOW to barley catch my train. 

I go to Haymitch's room and knock on it so hard it almost hurts. "HAYMITCH GET UP NOW WE OVERSLEPT." I hear him groan.

I throw on some gray sweats and a dark green tank top. I put on some slippers and bring my bag to the front door. 

I do nothing to my hair except brush it, so loose waves fall down my back.  

Haymitch comes out of his room with his suitcase, and I quickly grab us both granola bars. We both check around the house to see if we left anything. 

I left a pair of shoes, and Haymitch left nothing surprisingly. 

We both head out the door, and I decide to drive because I don't know if I trust Haymitch to drive right after he wakes up. 

Once we get to the station we run to our terminal and we make it barely in time. The doors were about to close, but we just barely got on. 

They assign me a room and I put down my stuff and decide to take a nap. We will arrive in district 12 in two days. Oh how I cannot wait.
