Miranda's pov

He kissed me! Why did he kiss me? Why did I kiss him?! Wait, we're STILL kissing!!" I pull away quickly. "What the hell just happened!?" Glenn screams. He walks over to me. "Let's go." Merle says. I nod. "Y-Yeah. We need to go now." I stammer, shocked. Glenn grips my hand. We all pack up to leave. Glenn stuffs his duffel bag. I run over to him but Jason steps in my way. "Get outta my way." I growl. "Let me just explain. I know ya don't remember." He says. "Remember? What are you talking about?" I cry, confused.

Jason's pov

I was about to tell her a BS story to get her to stay but Glenn clamps a hand on my shoulder. "Just walk away man." He says. "That ain't gonna happen." I say, my pistol hidden in my shirt sleeve. I turn on him, the pistol in his stomach. "Back away slowly China boy or I'll shoot ya!" I threaten. "Jason get that gun away from him!" She screams. I roll my eyes. She won't do anything. I move the pistol anyway. "I need to talk to her." I say. "No, you don't." He says, shoving me. He walks over to her and they leave. Her riding the back of the motorcycle. Dang it, blew my chance.

*later*

I wake up from a nightmare. Imagining her unconscious on the ground again like I found her the first time. I'm completely drenched  with sweat. I wish I knew if she was safe. I wish she stayed here. She'd be safe from these ravenous freaks. They're right though. My brother never would've attacked me. It wasn't  him anymore. I know what I have to do. I'm gonna find her.

Miranda's pov

I lay awake in the sleeping bag, wishing I could undo what happened on the farm. Why did I kiss him back and what was he talking about? What does he mean? The stars are flashing and sparkly. I can't sleep. I get up, grabbing my machete. I let out a long sigh when I pass Glenn. We broke up after that kiss. He thinks I like Jason more. He couldn't be more wrong. I hate that guy. I'm so mad at him. He ruined what I had going. I see Daryl snoring. My poor brother, the leader of our group. He's got so much on his shoulders. I sigh and sit on a rock close to our camp. My feet dangle off the rock barely touching the ground. Everyone else is asleep. "Are you are you coming to the tree? They strung up a man, they say who murdered three. Stranger things have happened here, no stranger would it be, if we met at mid night in the hanging tree." I sing quietly, barely above a whisper. I start singing it again when someone else sings it with me, a deeper voice. Jason's voice. I jump off the rock, holding up my machete. "Where are you?" I growl angrily in a quiet voice. He steps out. "How did you know the lyrics to that song?! Not even my brothers know that song! My mom sang it to me when I was little!!" I cry, a little too loud. "Whoa calm down! I heard you sing it so I copied you!" He says. I raise the machete. "Get away from me. You ruined what I had with Glenn. I don't know what's wrong with you but I just want you to stay as far away from me as possible!" I cry. He backs up a little. "I know you're mad, I'm sorry about all that. I'm just, I had to make sure you're okay." He says. What is he talking about?! "Well, while you're here, what did you mean by I wouldn't remember?!" I ask, still talking too loud and still not giving a shit.

Jason's pov

Ha she's still on that. I'll just tell her the story I made up and maybe then she'll come back with me. I tell her we used to date a long time ago and that she moved away and there's no way she would remember me. I probably shouldn't be lying to her but who cares. "Now will ya come with me?" I ask. "No freaking way. If I don't remember, I'm not going with you. I don't even believe that BS story!" She shouts. Dammit, she needs to be quiet! I hear the sounds of the infected and they are close and there are a lot! I can tell. If we're gonna survive, I'm gonna have to kill them. I don't want to but I would rather kill folks I don't know then a girl I really like. She gets onto the rock. "Come on. Grab hold!" She cries, holding out her hand. I grab her hand. She pulls me up. "You saved my life now I saved yours. After this is over, you go back to your farm, I go with my group." She says. That's not gonna happen. "Jason, did ya hear me?" She asks. "Oh yeah, I heard ya but there's no way I'm doin' that." I say. "You are so annoying!" She gripes, making me laugh. "I got that a lot before the apocalypse." I mumble. "Yeah, I bet. The one who ended up getting drunk and laying face down in the gutter half naked!" She says, laughing and slashing one of them with her machete. "Yeah, you should know!" I lie. She stares at me and stops attacking. I lower my pistol. "What do you mean by that?" She asks. "Nothin'. Either way, I didn't do any of that. I was the crazy partyer who was the entertainment and pulled pranks." I say. "Yeah, I'll believe that when I see it." She mutters, rolling her eyes and slashing another infected. "You come back to my farm, you will." I reply. She shoves me and I almost fall off the rock but she grabs my arm. "Did you just ask me to have sex with you?!" She growls. "What!? No!" I cry, "Now pull me up!!" She glares at me for a second then pulls me up. "Then what were you saying?" She asks. I'm a little annoyed since I lost my hat. "Girl, I was talkin' about my guitar. I was a singer before this crap!" I gripe, reloading my pistol. "I can't believe I'm killing people!" I gasp. "Jason, they aren't people, not anymore. Would you want to be one of these things or would you want someone to kill you?" She asks. I don't answer. She stops again. "Answer me, Jason." She says. "I'd want someone to at least try to save me." I say. "Well of course we would but when you're bit you're bit." She says, her back against mine. "I'm out of bullets." I say. She's breathing hard. "You killed them." She says. There's none left. I nod. "A guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do." I mutter, shrugging. She hands me the machete. "Whatca doin'?" I ask, fearfully. "Ya think you can kill one more?" She asks, striking fear through me. "What do you mean?" I ask, turning around.she falls to the ground. I jump down beside her. Now I see what she's talking about. She's got a gash in her foot from an infected scratching her. I'm not letting her die. I raise the machete and close my eyes. We both scream as I chop her foot off.
