Miranda's pov
"What happened to him?" I ask as Dawn walks in. "Our squad car was patrolling and they hit him." I hope he'll be okay. "And you're wrong." "Hm, wrong about what?" "He's great at being a leader. He's saved me countless times." "Oh well, with that limp, he'll just slow us down." She leaves. Dr. Andrews comes in. "You need to get the key around Dawn's wrist. It unlocks the room that has the medicine I need to save him." Oh man, Dawn really freaks me out. The way she won't let me leave. I find her in the hallway talking to some other cop. I see the key jingling on her wrist. How do I get it off!? I walk back to the room where the doctor is and Jason. "How can I get the key from her?" "I don't know but you better do it soon. I need that medicine." I glance worriedly at Jason. "I'll do whatever I can." I whimper, kissing his cheek.
Daryl's pov
I can't believe that damn car just took my baby sister. I don't know where she went or how to find her. Now I'm all alone, searching for her. I don't know where the rest of the group is.
Miranda's pov
I sneak over to Dawn's room. She's finally asleep. I carefully pull the key off and run out. The doctor takes the key and runs out. I sit beside the bed stressed out to the max. "It's okay Jason, he's gonna save you."
*the next day*
After the doctor gave him the medicine and I returned the key I didn't leave his room until he woke up. "I wasn't hit by a car." He says. "What do you mean?" "I was attacked. They went for me." "They attacked you?!" He nods. "We have to get out of here." He stands up, shakily. "But they won't let us leave. They say we owe them." "In this world, we don't owe no one nothin'. We're bustin' outta here tonight." I nod. "Where is everyone else?" I shrug. We sneak away to the roof. "It's completely picked clean of walkers." I whisper, shocked. "But how?" He walks to the edge. "Holy! Do you see that!?" He cries, pointing. "It's Daryl!" "We have to get to the ground floor!" "But he doesn't even know we're here!" I gasp. "Oh he will." He says, pulling flares out of his pants. I stare at him confused. "Don't ask." He mutters, popping one. "You find a way to the ground floor, I'll make sure Daryl knows where we are." I nod and hug him. "Promise me I'll see you again." "You will." He says, "Now go." I run outside. I know exactly what to use as a way to get to ground floor. The elevator shaft. I sneak into the weapons room and get several. I run back out right into Dawn. Uh oh. "What are you doing?" "I'm escaping bitch." I growl, shooting her. Just then Jason flies down the stairwell. He stares at Dawn. "What happened?" "No time to explain. Have them ready. There are a lot of walkers down there." He gulps and cocks his gun. "Ready?" "Ready." He grabs the rope and me and we slide down. Escaping just barely, we run through the doors as Daryl arrives on his motorcycle. "Thank goodness." He says, unlatching the lock. Jason shoots a few more walkers. Suddenly, a bullet shoots the gun from his hand. He sucks in a breath and shakes the pain.
Jason's pov
We run to Daryl's motorcycle when someone jerks me from behind. She stops running. "Go with Daryl. I'll find my own way out!" "No! I'm not leaving you!" She shouts as a cop tackles me to the ground. Daryl grabs her shoulders.
Miranda's pov
"No! I won't leave him!" I screech. But Daryl won't let me go! "Babe, go with him, I'll figure something else out. I'll do what-" the guy hits him in the head, knocking him out. "No!!" I scream. He drags him back to the hospital as Daryl puts me on the motorcycle. "It's just you and me now sis." He says. I'm too shocked and terrified to reply.
