Miranda's pov

Jason was keeping guard and I was staying up with him. "I know you're worried. I am too. But I think we can make this work." He says. I think he's in denial. "I could be dead though." I whisper. "I don't think you will though. Something in my gut is telling me you'll be okay and my gut has never steered me wrong." I lay my head on his arm, exhausted. All the shit from the last couple days has taken it's toll. "What do you think it's like?" I whisper, yawning. "What what's like?" He asks, looking over at me. "Where Merle is. And Shane. All our friends we've lost." I say. His hands tense up. "Your brother." I continue. He sighs. "You should get some sleep and don't say you ain't tired." He says instead. Why does he always avoid the subject? "Ok. I'll see you in the morning. Love you." I say kissing his cheek and going in the rv.

Jason's pov

"You're gonna have to tell her sooner or later." I jump. "Jeez Michonne, a little warning next time." I mutter, relaxing again, my back against the rv. She walks out of the shadows. "What are you doing up?" She shrugs, staring hard at me. "What is that look for?" "She won't give up. She'll keep pestering you." "Yeah that's my girl. Never giving up attitude. I think she gets it from her stubborn ass brothers." I mutter with a chuckle. "Are you ever going to tell her?" She asks, sitting beside me. "I don't know. I just don't want her to know. It'll freak her out." Michonne is the only one who knows about my past. She's really good at getting information out of people. "You did it to help your baby." "Please I don't want to talk about it." I say quickly. She stares at the ground, her katana in her hands inches from the ground. "I know what it's like." She whispers. I look over at her surprised. "What.... What do you mean?" She closes her eyes, fighting back tears. "It's okay if you don't want to tell me." I add quickly. "No. It's not that. I actually had a son but because of this I lost him. That's what turned me into this hard shell of who I was." She whispers, a tear hitting the ground. I never woulda thought! "Dang. I didn't know girl." I say, pushing off the rv. She does too. Then I hear rustling in the woods. My hands tense up around my bow and I look around, listening. "Who-" A man appears. I instantly raise my bow. "Get out of this camp!" I shout. "No! Wait! I'm here to help!" He gasps. "Help? Who are you? And why would you help us?" "My name's Aaron and I-" Michonne withdraws her katana. "We've taken too many chances. Get out!" She growls. "I know your wife is pregnant." He says, quickly, his eyes locking onto mine. My hands drop the bow in shock. "H-How do you know that?" I choke out. "We've been watching your group for a while now." He answers. "What do you want?" I ask. "I want to help. We have a safe zone about ten miles north. It's got steel plated walls. Nothing dead or alive gets in there without our permission. You'll be safe." He says. Michonne and I look at each other, mentally asking what we should do. "Why do you wanna help us?" "Like I said, we've been watching you. You'd make a great edition to the team." He pulls off his bag. "Don't move!" I gripe, quickly grabbing my bow back. He holds his hands up in surrender. Daryl wakes up out of his tent. "What's going on?" He asks. We tell him what the new guy said. "Forgive me but the last time we trusted a 'safe zone' we lost almost all our group." He gripes, using quotations on safe zone. I agree with Daryl 100% He turns back to me. "Your wife will be able to give birth safely. We have medical teams. You'll be safe and she will be too." I glance back at the rv, worriedly biting my lip. Michonne puts her katana away and Aaron breathes a relieved sigh. "I think we should trust him." She says. I almost never go against her when it comes to trusting people. She's really observant. But this time.... I'm not so sure. "Why? Why would you want to help us?" I ask. "The more people we save, the less we have to fight." He says, smiling. He walks over to me to where he's like steps away and could stab me if he wanted to. I back up a little. "You can take my weapons. We are not trying to hurt you." He says. I actually believe him. "You have to convince Daryl. He's our leader. He makes the final decisions." I say nodding my head to the crossbow weilding redneck. He looks worried. "I thought you were the leader." He mumbles. I shake my head and go in the rv. She's fast asleep. I sit beside her and she wakes up. "Oh hey." She's 7 months pregnant now. "Baby girl, there's someone you should meet." She's obviously confused. I help her up and out of the rv. She stops short seeing Aaron and instantly goes to her knife in her boot. I hold her hand. "Calm down it's okay for now." Since I still don't fully trust him. "Keep on your guard though." Aaron hands me his bag. "There's pictures of our community. You will be safe." He says. I open the bag and we all look at the pictures. Me and Daryl lock eyes. "Well it looks like we're going to Alexandria." He says. I smile and hold my girl's hand. "You're gonna be okay baby." I say, hugging her tight.
