Jason's pov
It's been almost 4 weeks since the team went to D.C. I know she'd give anything to have Merle back here safe and sound. Out there we have no clue where she is or what's going on. And it's completely tearing her apart. Right now I'm out hunting. I see a figure stumble in the distance. A walker. I've gotten better at killing these things without feeling like a murderer. I just think of my family. I set my sights on it with my sniper rifle. But the shocking thing is it's Merle! I run over, lowering the gun. "Merle! What happened?!" I cry. He clutches his stomach. "A herd.... Overrun..... Got bit." He mumbles, hitting his knees. He's been bit! His shirt came up and I saw the bite mark. Oh man, Miranda's gonna freak! "Tell her the Dixon trio can live on...... Through you and her.... You know what I mean." He chokes out. "Wait!? I thought you said..." "I ain't gonna let zombies kill off the human race. Us rednecks gotta stick together. And I'm sorry for hitting on your sister." This time it's genuine, before he was just BS'ing. "And I'm sorry for teasing you about me and your sister." I say. His face is ashen. He doesn't have much time. I stand up, loading my gun. "It was..... An honor..... To fight alongside you..... In the battle against the undead." He says, totally surprising me. "You too, man. A brave proud honor." I say, saluting and pointing the weapon at him. Thus shooting him in the head.
Sorry its so short
