Jason's pov

"Where'd they go?" "I don't know." He punches me in the face again. "We can do this all day! Now where'd they go?!" "I seriously don't know man!" I wish I got away with them. She'll be safe and so will the baby. Daryl will keep her safe for me. The gold ring on my finger shines from the light. Her dad's wedding ring which I now where because she's my wife. I have to get to her at all costs. He shoves me against the wall. "I'm getting really tired of your antics." He grabs my shoulders, forcing me to walk. They also have that doctor that saved me. What's going on. "You're of no use to us if you won't talk. Have fun with the biters." He says throwing us both towards the elevator. I catch myself but the doctor doesn't. "No!" He saved my life. I have to save his. It's only right. I run forward to grab him and they push me in. Shit! One arm holds onto him the other the wall. Sweat pouring down my face. I can't hold us here for long. I struggle to keep my grip on the wall but my sweaty hands lose it. We're both free falling and screaming. The wind rushing in my ears. I hit the ground hard and bust my ankle. "Crap!" He rolls to the side, unmoving. Oh no. My daring rescue attempt just fucked us both. I run over to him. "Doc, wake up, man!" I gasp, shaking him. I hear the walkers. I glance around us. My weapons gone. The doctor let's out a painfilled groan. I have to sit down, my ankle hurts unbearably. The groans are getting closer. "What do we do?" He whimpers. "We're fucked. I don't have my weapons." "I've got some scalpels." He says. That's not good but it's all we got. I grab a few. "Man, you ready for this?" "Nope." "Just aim for the head." I mutter under my breath.

*30 minutes later*

We finally make it out and the sunlight nearly blinds me. I toss the blood covered scalpels down and hit my knees, blacking out.

Doctor's pov

Crap! He's unconscious. I glance at his ankle. It's swollen and twisted. Damn, how are we gonna get away? I gotta help him for that girl.

Miranda's pov

We're almost out of the city when he slows down just enough for me to jump off. He spins around. "What are you doing?!" I don't answer. I just keep on running til I run smack into the doctor and he has Jason in tow! Thank God! I'm having trouble breathing. "Calm down. He's okay." My tear filled eyes land on the doctor. "Thank you so much you saved his life twice!" "Of course I took the oath. And just cause we're in an apocalypse doesn't mean I'm not sticking by it." I hug him. "Careful. He twisted his ankle." I nod and barely touch his face but he opens his eyes. "Baby, what are you doing here?" I kiss him on the lips and he sits up, holding me tight. "I thought I lost you. Don't ever do that again." "There was no way we would've both made it out. I promised we'd see each other again." He caresses my cheek. I help him up and he leans on me as we escape. "Daryl where is everyone else?" He asks. Daryl stays silent until we reach the rv. "They're gone." My eyes go wide. "All of them? Gone!" I whimper, losing my grip. He stumbles a little but catches his balance. "That's why I said it was just you and me." I hit my knees, Jason kneels beside me, wincing in pain. "How could they all be gone?" I whimper. No one has an answer. It's just like all the other unanswerable questions. Why is this happening? What do we do? How do we stop it? Jason hugs me. "It'll be okay. You won't be gone like them. I promise."

Jason's pov

For some unknown reason, my mind wanders back to T-Dog who was the last person I cared about that I saw died. She won't die. I won't let it happen. That's when I realize we have a doctor. She'll be able to have the baby with a medical professional. "Hey doc, ya think you can stay alive the next nine months?" He nods but as we all know no life is promised. We could all die tomorrow and that would be okay if we die together. I strugglingly stand up and walk to the rv. Michonne's katana lay on the ground covered in blood. "Damn. If she's dead, we're all doomed." I pick it up and find the sheath clipping it to my belt. I wash the blood off and sheath it. She walks up the steps. "Babe, I think they're all dead." "But how? Who did it?" She whimpers. I hug her. "Let's just think about surviving." I lay down to rest my ankle and she lays beside me. "What was life like for you before the apocalypse?" She asks, propping her head on her hand to look at me. "Believe it or not baby girl, but I was a real outlaw. I used to do things I am not proud of." "Like what?" I sigh. "Let's just get some sleep."

~flashback~

I point the gun at the liquor store attendant, tears in my eyes. "Give me the money and no one has to get hurt." He was reaching for his gun. So I fired and as that boy laid there dying I dropped my pistol on the floor. I stole the money, ran out, and got what I needed. A hungry blue eyed baby cryin' made me rob that store. The cops bust in, take my baby, and arrest me for murder. I was on death row when the apocalypse hit. Luckily I escaped.

~flashback over~

I can never tell her that. She'd go nuts. I never knew what happened to that baby either. Oh well, I can start over new with this one. She sleeps soundly beside me. I stare down at her. Would she still love me if she knew the real me? I lay down resting a hand against her stomach. Being a dad, round 2. This time I won't fuck up.
