Miranda's pov
He stands by the door. "You ready?" He asks, holding his hand out for me. I nod and grip his hand. The anger of losing Glenn pushing out the fear. "Just don't let go of my hand." I say. He smiles. "Never." He says, raising his gun. He opens the door and we shoot the walkers all around the place as we run. We've got to get to Daryl and Merle's camp. I stumble and hit the ground but Jason pulls me up seconds later. He fires off rounds. There's like thousands! "Wait! We can't go to my brothers' camp with all these walkers trailing us!" I cry. "Damn, you're right. You think you can climb a ladder?" I glance at the building he's pointing to. "I-I don't know." I say, fearfully. We run over to that building and he helps me climb. I hear him scream. "What?! What happened?!" I cry, trying to turn to look. "Keep going!" He gasps.

I shoot the thing before it can bite me. I almost fell though back into the mob of infected. "I'm okay." We get to the roof. We're both breathing heavily. "What happened back there?" She asks. "Nothin'. An infected just grabbed my leg. I killed it before it got me." I say. "You mean a walker." She says. I nod. Whatever. Who cares what we call them. I get the binoculars out of my pack and start looking for their camp. She grabs my pants leg, making me jump. "What's wrong?" I ask, getting on my knees to help her. "My leg." She says. "Ya just gotta rest it. We shouldn't have been running like that." I say, looking at it. She shivers. I reach for the blanket. "Just hold me." She says. I get the blanket also and hold her in my lap. She's freezing. I don't know if that's a sign or not. I hope it's not. "I'm so cold." She whimpers. I run her arms trying to warm her up. The walkie talkie crackles. Instead of answering it, I kiss her and she kisses me back. After that kiss, we just stare at each other. Then she hugs me. No words have to be said. We both are thinking the same thing. We kiss again, my hand on the back of her neck holding her up.

The herd of infected have moved on. I help her down the ladder and we get to her brothers and Shane. She starts crying again when she sees Glenn not here. "Now what happened to you?" Merle asks. She glances back at me. "I was in deep shit and Jason saved me." She sorta lies. She didn't say the fact that I was the reason she was in deep shit.

Merle still eyes him suspiciously. "How did he know?" He asks. "I uh..." But I can't think of anything. I was hunting nearby and I heard her scream." He lies, holding my hand. "Enough with the questions. She needs to rest." Daryl says. "I rested a lot at Jason's house. If it wasn't for him, I'd be dead." Daryl and Merle look at each other.

I don't believe it for a second. I have a feeling something else happened that she's not saying. I'll leave it be for now. "Thanks for your help, Jason, but we can take it from here." Daryl says. "No if it's all the same for y'all, I was wondering if he could stay." She says, nervously, standing in front of him. His hands rest on her shoulders. "I guess he can stay." Daryl says. My eyes go wide. I grab his arm and pull him away. Shane joins us. "I don't think he should stay." I say. "Why not? He's not gonna hurt us. He saved our sister twice. If he wanted to, he coulda left her to die! But he didn't. He saved her." He says, pointing the crossbow in their direction. "I'm with Daryl on this one. Why would he save her, if he was gonna kill her later." Shane says. I smirk. "All in favor of letting him join, say aye." Daryl and Shane do. I don't. "Majority rules." Shane says.

They'll let him stay, I know they will. All three boys walk back over to us. "Welcome to the team, Jason." Shane says with a smile. I hug him. "Thanks so much guys." I cry.

Jason's pov
I could be staying at the farm with my family. I know it'd be safer but Daryl and Merle wouldn't let her come with me. And I'm not going without her. I promised I'd never leave her and I'm keeping that promise. We walk to her tent. "You can sleep in here with me." She says. Merle stares at us from his tent. He isn't happy about this at all. "I don't think your brother will like that." I say, pointing over my shoulder. "Knock it off Merle!" She calls. "Just ignore him." We get in her tent. She goes to sleep in like 5 minutes but I keep on my guard, just in case any of the infected get near the camp. I start getting tired though. I look out of the tent and Daryl is on guard so I can sleep. I lay down beside her, exhausted. I glance at where her foot used to be. All my fault. "She'll be fine." I mumble, closing my eyes and falling asleep.
