The courtroom buzzed with an odd mix of tension and amusement.

Lingling Kwong, renowned for her razor-sharp arguments, stood across the room, her gaze locked on her supposed rival—or rather, her girlfriend—Orm Kornnaphat.

Orm, seated at the defendant's table, exuded smug confidence. Her lips curled into a sly grin as she tilted her head and shot Lingling a teasing wink.

The judge, already looking exhausted, cleared his throat. "We're here to deliberate the case of reckless driving resulting in minor damages. Plaintiff's counsel, Attorney Kwong, you may proceed."

Lingling straightened, a playful smirk tugging at her lips. "Your Honor, if it pleases the court, I believe Attorney Kornnaphat should go first. She's much better at making an entrance."

A murmur rippled through the courtroom as Orm's cheeks reddened. She shook her head, her voice soft but firm. "Your Honor, I think Attorney Kwong should lead. She's the more experienced one here."

Lingling leaned casually against her table, her smirk growing. "Oh, don't be modest, Kornnaphat. Everyone here knows you're a star. I'd love to watch you shine a little longer."

Orm's jaw dropped slightly before she bit her lip, fighting a smile. "Lingling," she hissed under her breath, half embarrassed, half amused.

The courtroom chuckled quietly until the judge raised a hand. "Enough," she said sternly. "Attorney Kwong, you're up. Make your opening argument."

Lingling adjusted her notes, clearing her throat but keeping the twinkle in her eye. "Your Honor, the case before us today is a clear example of reckless driving. My client, a cyclist minding their own business, was struck by Attorney Kornnaphat's client, who—"

Her voice faltered as Orm shifted in her seat, crossing her legs dramatically. The movement was subtle but effective—her skirt riding up just enough to catch Lingling's eye.

Lingling's words faltered.

"Attorney Kwong?" the judge prompted.

Orm raised an eyebrow alarming the woman to respond to the judge and subtly blew her a kiss, making Lingling's composure falter.

Lingling placed a hand dramatically over her heart.
