The tension in the car was suffocating, the kind of charged atmosphere that could spark an explosion at any moment.

Orm sat in the passenger seat, her legs bouncing furiously as if trying to vent the storm of rage building up inside her.

Becky gripped the wheel nervously, her eyes darting between the road and her fuming friend.

"Orm," Becky began hesitantly, voice soft but strained, "Can you at least wait until tomorrow to talk to her? Maybe when you've calmed down?"

Orm snapped her head toward Becky, glaring so intensely it felt like her eyes could bore a hole straight through her. Her voice came out cold and clipped, every word dripping with venom. "If there's a tomorrow for her, Becky, I will fucking kill her."

Prig, sitting in the backseat beside a snoring Ken, rolled her eyes. She crossed her arms tightly, fought her tongue from slipping and say something that would probably escalate the tension.

Orm slammed her hand against the car door, her frustration pouring out with every word. "Who gives someone 300 fucking grand just like that?! No questions asked, no conditions, just like—here, take it!"

Prig let out a snort, muttering loud enough for Orm to hear. "Is she even listening to herself?"

Orm whipped her head toward Prig, face flushed with fury. "Me! Orm Kornnaphat—to be thrown money at like I'm some charity case? Who the fuck does she think I am, huh? Some beggar she can throw scraps to? So now I'd feel obligated to her, right? That now I'd have a fucking reason to say yes to dating her?!" She laughed bitterly, slamming her back against the seat. "In her fucking nightmares!"

Prig sat up straighter, her tone sharp and cutting. "I genuinely suggest turning this car around and calming the fuck down, Orm!"

Orm shook her head vehemently, her jaw clenched. "Nope. I'm dealing with this now. Right fucking now."
