Back To The Past

I look at the ever changing scenery from the back.

"I feel so goddamn anxious."

I was hanging over the edge of the carriage with my face looking terrible.

"Hey, your face looks terrible. Is it really that bad?"

Cylob: "I don't need you to repeat my thoughts, also, please stop poking my cheek."

"No way, it's way too squishy."

I wanted to glare at the person beside me, but I couldn't glare at those beautiful cyan eyes.

I sigh in exasperation.

Cylob: "Remind me why you're with me again?"

"Crusch wanted me to keep an eye on you."

Cylob: "I don't feel like that's the actual reason though... but again, there's no way that serious Crusch was thinking about something like a honeymoon. Still, it's somewhat calming to have you around."

I pet her orange hair.

"I know that you don't think of me as a kid, but this is too much don't you think?"

Cylob: "No way I will stop petting you, it feels way too nice."

She pouts at me.

Aaah. If I was talking with my friend, he would probably say "You dare use my own spells against me, Potter?"

I shook my head to get those thoughts out of my head. Thinking about the previous world was a bad habit of mine.

I will never return to it and there's no need to think about what ifs. There's no point in me thinking about it. There's no point in me remembering what I left behind...

...*poke*

She will actually never stop, will she?

And so I kept being poked at by Carol all the way to Obuch.

Cylob: "Thanks for the lift... um, what was your name again?"

"It's Molna, and it wasn't a big deal. Having free protection against mabeasts is never a bad deal!"

Molna was a young girl with brown skin, white hair and blue eyes. She had a cheerful personality and throughout the entire trip, she had been teasing both me and Carol.

Cylob: "About the protection against mabeasts, shouldn't you have someone to keep you safe all the way to Priestella?"

Molna: "No worries, my father Vodil taught me all I need about fighting! I wouldn't lose against some weak mabeasts!" She flexed her muscles while smirking.

...Fate is a bitch, huh.

I could feel a non-existent hand squeezing my heart.

Cylob: "I see. Well, it never hurts to be more careful. Besides, if there are multiple enemies, your cargo might get damaged while you fight them off. You wouldn't want that happening, would you?"

Molna: "I guess that's true... Alright, I'll be more careful next time!"

Cylob: "Good."

I nodded, trying my best to keep my poker face.

Molna rode off, and I couldn't avert my gaze from her carriage until it was over the horizon.

"What's wrong? Your face looks terrible."

Cylob: "Even when I try my best to have a poker face, you can still see right through me, huh. Well, you see, Vodil is the person I rode with last time. He inexplicably disappeared, though it later became obvious to me that the Archbishop Of Gluttony was the one who got him. And since I am the reason Gluttony was here in the first place... you can figure it out from there."
