"How do you know about me? How do you know so much about everyone? Just how many secrets do you hold? Just how much knowledge do you have? ...And could you perhaps tell some to me?"
No voice answered from the other side. It was not because the device was faulty, but because the person themself didn't talk.
And what that person was doing was something I didn't expect and didn't know was possible.
Transformation and... consumption? Or destruction, perhaps? How fascinating.
"I've never seen anyone do something like that."
Finally, the person answered.
["And you never will."]
The communication cut off. I was left with my own thoughts again.
And there was one conclusion I came to.
"I'll have to talk to him again."

The three figures entered the bar. More accurately, two figures were dragging a third to the bar.
???: "...Welcome, you from the Sand Wind."
The shopkeeper of the establishment greeted the three figures, somewhat surprised and confused.
The surprise was probably because the three figures were completely devoid of sand, even though the outside was roaring with it. The confusion was from the comical arrangement the three had entered in.
Nevertheless, the shopkeep did not allow those emotions to stop him from doing his job.
Shopkeeper: "What would you like to order?"
"Cold milk!" "Nothing for me." "What do you have?"
The shopkeep pointed upwards, where the menu was scratched into a wood tablet, while preparing a cup.
The three figures all sat down, one of them seemingly resigned to his fate.
???: "I really should not be here. And we should not be stopping like this."
The red haired one said so, his blue eyes downcast.
The one with mean eyes slapped him on the back.
Subaru: "You're too stiff. Besides, what good does standing outside do? You'll just be sitting doing nothing, at least here you can talk with us! And everyone needs a break, you know? Though, not like I'd understand that, considering for me it feels like just a second passed."
Reinhard wryly smiled.
Reinhard: "I suppose. For you and Miss Beatrice this whole journey practically doesn't exist after all."
Subaru: "Hehe, right. It is honestly such a cheat! It feels weird... but I'd rather it be this than one month of rotting in a carriage."
With a "here you go" from the shopkeep, Subaru started greedily drinking the milk given to him.
???: "I'll just have appa juice."
The orange haired one, who was silent until now on account of seeing what this establishment offered, drew the attention of the two with his voice.
Subaru: "Cylob, tell 'im that he's too formal all the time."
Cylob shrugged.
Cylob: "What's the point of saying something that has been told him hundreds of times? I'll complain instead. I mean, I had to get rid of sand from the both of us, but Reinhard didn't have any sand on him in the first place! Reinhard, do you have the Divine Protection of not having sand sticking to you or something?!"
