I DO NOT OWN NARUTO
Tsunade's gaze softened as she looked at Shizune, soaked to the bone and shivering slightly from the cold. "Go freshen up, quickly. If you keep sitting around like this, you'll get sick."
Shizune hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Yes, Lady Tsunade." She turned and left the room, moving swiftly to dry off and change into fresh clothes. When she returned, she settled down in her place, her face composed but still carrying the weight of urgency.
Karin, who had been passing by, caught wind of the conversation and stepped inside, curiosity piqued. She leaned against the wall beside Sasuke, glancing around the room. Naruto sat beside Sakura, his posture tense, while Sasuke remained in the shadows at the far corner, arms crossed. Karin positioned herself next to him, observing the scene intently. Kabuto sat to Sakura's right, his fingers interlaced, seemingly unaffected by the gravity of the situation. Shizune took a seat beside Kabuto, her expression solemn. Across from them sat the three Sannin, their faces unreadable, waiting for the report.
Shizune exhaled slowly before she began.
Sakura reached into her pouch, pulling out a scroll and a pen, ready to document the findings. Her expression was serious, eyes sharp as she prepared to write down every detail.
Shizune's voice was grave. "The Third Hokage's son, Asuma Sarutobi, is dead. He was killed by two Akatsuki members—Hidan and Kakuzu."
A heavy silence filled the room.
"Hidan is a follower of Jashin, a god that thrives on sacrifice. Kakuzu, on the other hand, is a bounty hunter. According to the accounts of those who fought against them—Shikamaru, Izumo, Kotetsu, Neji, and Hinata, who later joined the battle—Hidan's abilities make him practically immortal. As for Kakuzu, Izumo and Kotetsu reported that he used a thread-like jutsu capable of killing in a single strike. Worse yet, he possesses five hearts, making him nearly impossible to kill."
Sakura scribbled down the information quickly, her grip on the pen tightening as she listened.
Shizune sighed, her tone heavier as she continued, "As for the information Shikamaru had to provide to the medical unit... he spoke nothing. He was too dazed, completely shaken."
A sharp inhale broke the silence—Naruto clenched his fists, his face contorted with fury. "WHAT?!" His voice boomed through the chamber. "THOSE BASTARDS KILLED ASUMA-SENSEI?!"
Sakura's knuckles turned white as she tightened her grip on the scroll. "Hidan... Kakuzu... they'll pay for this." Her voice was low, shaking with restrained anger.
Naruto shot to his feet, knocking his chair back. "I swear, I'm going to kill them myself! I'll take them both down—Hidan, Kakuzu, whatever!" His chakra flared around him, the raw rage within him barely contained.
Jiraiya narrowed his eyes. "Calm down, Naruto." His voice, though firm, lacked harshness. "Getting angry won't bring Asuma back. If you rush in without thinking, you'll just get yourself killed."
Naruto's teeth gritted together, his fists trembling. "Then what am I supposed to do?! Just sit here and do nothing?!"
Jiraiya placed a hand on Naruto's shoulder, grounding him. "No. You need to get stronger. If you really want to avenge Asuma, you have to train. You have to be ready. Running into battle unprepared won't just get you killed—it'll make their sacrifice meaningless."
