The dust had settled, but the silence screamed louder than the explosions ever had.

Sakura knelt over a dying shinobi, his breath rattling, blood soaking through her gloves and staining her elbows. His leg—crushed, bones shattered like glass under the weight of a god's fury. Her chakra refused to focus. Her hands shook. Her breath caught in her throat.

Then—

Her world shattered.

Everything around her blurred into red.

Her vision dimmed...
The dirt below her turned slick and warm.
Drip... drip... drip...
Her knees were in a pool of blood.

And then, like a phantom of guilt, they came.

Hands. Bloody hands.

Pale, mangled fingers reached up from the blood, grabbing her wrists, her ankles, her chest.

They pulled.
They whispered.
They screamed.

"You let me die."
"I called for you."
"Why didn't you come?"
"You could have saved me—why didn't you?"

She gasped. Her eyes were wide. Her mouth was dry. Her heartbeat pounded so loudly it sounded like war drums in her ears.

She heard another voice—

Tsunade's voice.

Cold. Sharp. Disappointed.

"You froze on the battlefield, Sakura. You froze when they needed you the most."

She wanted to scream. She wanted to rip her ears off. She wanted to—

"SAKURA-CHAN!!!"

Her head jerked up.

Naruto.

Standing tall in the middle of the wreckage, blood streaming down his cheek, his chakra flaring golden like wildfire, the deep red forehead protector tied around his forehead—the one that used to be hers. The one he kept.

He stared straight at her, unwavering.

"We don't have time for our best medic to doubt herself."
"If you can't save that one, then move on to the next."

She blinked.
The voices faded.
The blood beneath her was just mud now.
The hands were gone.
Only her own trembling fingers remained.

Then—

A rush of wind. Fierce. Clearing the sky.
Temari.

Her fan was half-broken, but still swinging with pride. Dust cleared around her like a queen entering her court.

She marched to Sakura, eyes blazing.

"Look at me."
"Stop letting your power rot."
"If there's one time to use what you've trained for, it's now."

Temari cracked her neck, rolled her shoulders back.

"SHINOBI!!!"
"STAND UP!!! WE HAVE AN ENEMY IN FRONT OF US!!!"

And the wind howled behind her like a battle cry. If Gaara wasn't here to lead, then she would.

Then—

The earth trembled.

Every head turned.

The shattered meteor began to shift.

A pulse of chakra stirred the sand around it.

From beneath the rubble, sand exploded upward like a geyser, hurling debris into the sky.
