"Bahaha! Nobody will ever know it's us!" Naruto exclaimed, throwing his paint-covered hands in the air. A paintbrush stuck haphazardly in his spiky yellow hair, blobs of paint splattered across his orange jacket, and a huge paint bucket sat beside him, wobbling dangerously on the edge of spilling.

Sakura groaned, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Naruto, it's you who did that, not us-and I think it's pretty obvious that it was you." She glanced around at the bright, messy streaks of orange and yellow covering the walls, some still dripping. "Kakashi-sensei is gonna make us clean all of this up, you idiot!" she added, folding her arms tightly as she glared at him.

Sasuke, leaning coolly against the wall, crossed his arms. "Sometimes I wonder why I even bother sticking around this dobe," he muttered, rolling his eyes. His face, however, betrayed the faintest smirk, knowing deep down that their chaotic friendship was a source of amusement, even if he'd never admit it out loud.

Naruto grinned wider, completely unbothered by their complaints. "Tch, you guys are no fun! It'll wash off eventually, right? Plus, the Hokage Monument could use a bit more color!" He pointed to the distant heads of Konoha's past leaders now decorated with neon orange streaks, as though the paint was an artistic improvement.

Sakura's face turned bright red with frustration. "Eventually?! Naruto, you painted on the Hokage Monument! We'll be scrubbing for days!" She stomped her foot in exasperation, fists clenched, fully ready to punch Naruto into the next week.

Before Naruto could respond with one of his goofy comebacks, a voice broke through the air like a sharp breeze.

"Naruto..."

The three froze. Naruto's eyes widened in panic. Sakura's hands slowly fell to her sides, and even Sasuke straightened up, his smirk disappearing. They all recognized the voice.

Slowly turning around, they saw Kakashi standing just behind them, his single visible eye squinting, the rest of his face hidden behind his signature mask. He stared at the brightly painted monument, then shifted his gaze to the trio, focusing especially on Naruto's paint-covered face and clothes.

"I'm going to assume this was all your idea, Naruto." His voice was calm-too calm.

Naruto gulped. "Eh... uh... yeah, but I had some help from Sasuke and Sakura too, right guys?!" He glanced desperately at his teammates, trying to drag them down with him.

"Absolutely not," Sakura deadpanned, stepping away from Naruto and dusting off her hands as if to show she had nothing to do with it.

"Don't look at me," Sasuke added, moving farther back, his face completely unbothered, though there was still a glint of amusement in his eyes.

Kakashi let out a long sigh, shaking his head slowly. "I suppose you know what this means..."

"Wait! I can explain! It was part of my training to-" Naruto began, waving his hands frantically.

But Kakashi raised a finger to cut him off. "Naruto, you will spend the next few days redecorating the Hokage Monument... by cleaning every inch of it."

Naruto's shoulders slumped dramatically. "But Kakashi-sensei! The monument's like, super big! It'll take forever!"

Kakashi gave a small shrug, his eye crinkling in a lazy smile. "Then you'll have plenty of time to work on your stamina, won't you?"
