Un-Break My Heart- Toni Braxton
_____________
"Fire is within us all, but sometimes it fades closed off with oxygen, and sometimes it grows stronger with water when we try to push it away."

Her skin. Her damn fucking skin. And her scent, dear god, I was going crazy.
When I entered that glass door I thought two things. One, I would see her. Second, I would enjoy seeing her model with such passion.
To analyze her, to see how she moved under interaction with others. Never, never did I think I would see her in a body suit lingerie, if you could even call it that, with a foot over a man's shoulder. A man whose face was between her legs, staring right into her eyes.
But her eyes stared inside mine.
So hot, so warm, such a fucking storm all around.
They burned like the depth of a volcano, covered cold, but the lava burned you alive.
She was like a painting, one so beautiful, so emotional, but a numbness in her made her unreachable. Like the girl inside the frame, where you reach with your hand and she seems so far away.
And, for the first time in my life, I did something uncalculated.
I decided to take that man's place, whose name apparently was Mateo. And I was for sure going to question him since Camelli told me to. I wasn't going to doubt her, since after all she was the one who knew for sure Frederico Gallo was going to die.
I didn't, and couldn't grasp who she truly was. I never could.
She's a saint, but she's a deceiver. She's a sheep, but maybe in wolf's clothing. She's porcelain, but somehow, unbreakable.
I rolled my shoulders back to release those thoughts that were attacking me inside out and started to approach Mateo who was in the corner of the set laughing with others. His hand was clutching someone's shoulder, probably a staff member. She was laughing, her hair in a ponytail.
Mateo seemed to feel my presence coming closer, since his eyes moved to my direction as he seemed to excuse himself to the girl.
"Alonzo, isn't that right?" He smiled wide towards me when I was in front of him.
"You're not mistaken. Mateo?" I answered coldly and he scratched his head.
"Yeah. Can I help you with something, or?" He laughed and leaned his hip against the table he had near.
I stared at his eyes. I saw why Estelle told me to question him. He seemed like he wanted to present a version of himself to everyone. The movement he did, the hip placement was an indicator on how he wanted to put the other person more at ease. Also, he was laughing and smiling, something you don't necessarily do unless you are in a state of anxiety.
"Actually, yes." I came closer to him, leaning on the wall facing him. "Do you know Estelle Camelli?"
He seemed to think about the answer. He stared at the floor for a brief second before meeting my eyes.
"I do. We used to be best friends."
Now, that I didn't expect.
