Cain Blaze the Shadow Rider was miserable, why, he failed, as a leader, a friend, a father, and a husband, many of his teammates and friends didn't want to see him, his best friend Peter Parker blamed him for letting him make the deal with Mephisto...
So I decided while Cain does have Bellion, he doesn't have the millions of shadows that came with Bellion, in this story, Bellion decided he wanted to keep an eye on Zarathoses vessel and chosen heir so he's there originally as just someone who watched and observed everything, but once he had an idea of what Cain was like Bellion decided to swear himself to Cain.
Cain was just standing there well then the cameras appeared in Cains mind seeing what he sees, inside Cains mind, he was seeing a battle between an army of demons, and an army of Shadows that far surpassed his own.
The sky began to crack and angels descended upon the monsters and shadows, and the battle began for everyone killed, the shadow army grew whether monsters, or these angelic warriors, they were revived as shadows, all revived with one command, "Arise," Cain heard on the wind, and he looked and saw a figure cloaked in shadow riding on a shadow horse, he was decked out in pure black armor.

"Zarathos," Cain thought to himself as he cut down many angels in his path.
The Abbey
"I thought Cain and Zarathos were allies to the angels," said Petra.
"They are, but they also keep balance between the Monarchs and Rulers," Neith said in her mind.
"Wait balance?" asked Petra.
"Sis wanna share with the class?" asked Peter.
"Talking to a god," said Petra.
"I'll expand to all their minds," said Neith as she began speaking to them all.
"Cain and Zarathos before him, are the great equalizers of the Monarchs and the Rulers, both sides represent something, light and dark, order and chaos, neither force can overtake the other, otherwise the multiverse itself is thrown out of balance, you noticed when Cain killed Abaddon his power remained and went to find a new host," said Neith.
"Yeah," said Ben.
"That's because there must always be monarchs, and rulers, so if one is to die the power is to find a new host," said Neith.
"Than it can't be that bad right?" asked Kaine.
"This only applies to beings like Cain, if a Ruler were to kill a monarch, or a monarch a ruler, they would be able to erase their power and presence from the multiverse, erasing every fragment of that Rulers light, Zarathos is the exception to this rule as he found ways to kill the Monarchs and Rulers without erasing their light and darkness seeing as he knew they needed both to balance the multiverse, maybe even the omniverse," said Neith.
"But anyway, Zarathos and now Cain will join whichever side is on the ropes so as to bring a balance , but they won't help that side win, back then the Rulers were winning the war, so Zarathos joined the Monarchs, in this generation the Monarchs are mostly winning and most of them despise Cain, and Zarathos, because many Monarchs and a few Rulers would actually like to end the war, and reform the multiverse in their image," said Neith
"Many Rulers accept that there must be a balance and so accept Cain as the equalizer," said Neith.
"As do a few of us Monarchs," said Laura as her eyes glowed gold.
"Fenris, don't lie, you only support Cain and Zarathos for their good looks," said Neith.
"Same with Beelzebub," said Neith.
Petra shivered at that name, "sis you ok?" asked Kaine.
"It's fine, the monarch of insects and plagues just makes my skin crawl," said Petra.
"Why?" asked Peter worried for his sister.
"Beelzebub and I have issues, so she tends to send her armies to kill me and my avatars," said Neith.
"That battle's actually how Cain got Beru," said Petra as she remembered how as the Ant King, Beru had nearly killed her, and Cain came in and fought the Ant to save her.
Cains dream
More and more shadows die, but they just revive, immortality, the immortal army, and for every shadow taken down more would rise from the dead bodies left by others, enemies are slain one after another, and Cain watches Zarathos ride through the sea of death leaving a storm in his wake.
A blue and red portal seemed to open and from it stepped two more armies, armies of beasts, and demons, as did Abaddon, the demon monarch, and Fenris the beast monarch, behind his black helmet, Zarathos narrowed his glowing purple eyes.
The war was a constant cycle of death and regeneration for shadows, this battle especially as they were defeated and regenerated over and over, but even the demons of the abyss were no match as Fenris and her beasts retreated, Zarathos walked up to Abaddon.
"Why?" Zarathos growled.
"You have to ask, we want to remake the universe and we can't do that with you present great equalizer," said Abaddon.
"If necessary I'll destroy you Abaddon," growled Zarathos, but the demon monarch disappeared making the shadow monarch growl angrily.
"So the Monarchs want to remake the multiverse in their image, guess I'll have to deal with them all, and make new Monarchs," Zarathos said as he was having these thoughts there was light behind him, and behind him appeared the angelic rulers.
The memories of his predecessor done, Cain opened his eyes the and took in a breath, "what did you do to my body," growled Cain looking at Kandariu with a glare.
"No, you weren't supposed to wake up here, you were supposed to die, and leave your body for the King," growled Kandariu glaring at Cain.
"How, how, the dark heart beats within you, yet how are you here, retaining your own mind, rather than his highness," growled Kandariu.
Cain punched Kandariu to the ground, stood on top of him and summoned multiple daggers from portals, every dagger Cain owned was pointing down at the architect of the system.
"No, if you kill me the system will leave you, you'll go back to being just another Ghost Rider," said Kandariu.
"You know both me and Zarathos thought about that, but I doubt if the Architect of the system were to die, the whole thing would collapse," said Cain with a smirk.
"You've forced my hand then boy," growled Kandariu as he tried to shut down the system, only for the screen to say system administrator access denied.
Kandariu looked on in fear, as the shadow of Zarathos seemed to appear behind Cain.
"Did you think I was stupid Kandariu?" Zarathos asked.
"Your majesty, no, of, of course not," said Kandariu.
"If you thought I'd let a servant of the Dragon and other monarchs who are against me escape just for assisting me, you're dead wrong," said Zarathos as his and Cains eyes glowed and Zarathos placed a dagger in Cains hands.
"I will not die, my master will avenge me," yelled Kandariu and Cain just sliced his face in half.
"Finally, he's been annoying me since I got the system," said Cain.
