I think my sister Beth was the slowest shopper in the human race, and I was the pregnant one. That was a problem I had; I lost patience when shopping. It was fun when the store was at something for me, or I was more interested.

However, looking in a store for sweaters for Tom wasn't my vibe. Kingston picked out his own clothing and was certain about how he liked it. I wasn't testing the waters until five years of marriage.

"Lina, isn't it cute?" She held up a sweater that was almost the exact same color as the other one she had just shown me.

"Yeah, I say get Tom both," I was ready to sit down. I was nearing the end of my eighth month with twins. Which really meant they were on a mission to evacuate the area soon enough.

Motherhood scared me. However, I felt more at ease with them out of me. Pregnancy had been one of the scarier things by far in this life, and I wasn't quite sure if I'd ever be doing this again. Though I know his family wants a boy.

I was happy with my girls.

"Really? They aren't too similar," I suck in my lips in response and rapidly nod my head. I was ready just to go home and sleep. "Don't worry, after this, there's this perfect baby boutique we'll be heading to," she squealed with excitement. I couldn't quite argue with that.

Once she checked out, she scurried us through the streets towards a light pink store, "I know you have a gazillion things, but I'm here to spoil you! Plus, for a baby shower-"

"There will be no baby shower; that's far too much overstimulation. I'm about to pop with twins and feel like air bubbles dictate my body," she was quick to pick out things for the babies. Almost too quick, and by the time I looked back at her again, the basket was full.

"You are paying for all of that," I note, causing her to roll her eyes. It was stuff I didn't need or already had. "Good—I want to spoil my nieces," she says as she drops the items at checkout, and I find myself wandering to the back end of the store.

My phone buzzes, and in the group chat, I receive the worst text I could get.
