Alina Romano
"Five hours late. Alina, what the hell is going on? It's making me start to think your work husband is your real one," Kingston said, the seat buckle wrapped tight around him as he spoke, his abs flexing against it through his shirt in frustration.
"You've taken calls where you have been late as well. Work has just been harder lately. I just want to relax with you in London," I excuse.
The plane rumbles beneath us as tension settles high. I felt like crying after a day like today. I didn't want him to be mad. I already dealt with too many people being mad at me today.
I just wanted my husband's love and support. But I couldn't ask for that; he'd take it too far. Especially with the treatment Bridget has specifically given me. Poor thing has no idea who she's dealing with.
A woman whose husband would kill her without a second thought and make it look like she never existed. He could erase a person, and that in itself was frightening.
But it was weird because he didn't scare me. I knew a different version of him. The man who stays home from work to care for his wife on her period. Watches movies he claims to hate but secretly loves because I do. Whispers sweet nothings as he shows me the moon and the stars while loving me.
However, there was a side of him I did not know—a side that would wipe out whoever stood in my way or threatened me. Even Antony is on a shoot-to-kill order if a threat were to occur. I only know this because of Enzo.
"I'm sorry, Kingston," I whisper as I watch as his eyes grow in frustration.
"What did I say to you, Alina Romano?" he leans forward, waiting for me to speak. One of the main rules he gave me under being his wife.
"Never apologize," I mumble.
"You never apologize. A queen never apologizes. Everyone else is simply wrong." He utters leaning back into the seat. The plane jets off the ground and I curl into the chair.
I wanted to cry now more than ever. For some reason my anxiety was telling me that everyone hated me. A fact I know to be untrue. However it was overbearing and scary, I felt like I couldn't breathe in a way.
It unsteadies and for some reason I feel like I'm suffocating. The air not reaching my lungs as I grip to the seat, the oxygen from the plane simply fleeting. I was sweating as my heart raced at a rate that didn't seem possible. I was dying, I was going to die on this airplane, I wasn't safe or secure.
The air seemed hard to take in as my fingers trembled, "Mrs.Romano?" The echoes of Antony's voice can be heard as I feel stuck.
"I just can't... I can't," grasping my chest the air doesn't seem to be coming in. The world was spinning and I couldn't slow down with it. "I'm gonna die," fear of what was happening to me sinks out.
My ears ring in an overwhelming wave. As I close my eyes my heart feels as if it could pound of my chest and that I was suffocating. I feel something press against my knees and my eyes open to him.
Worry filled his eyes as his hand placed on my chest, "Sunshine." He whispers the simple words. My chest rises and falls in a painful manner as my breathing drops. "Hey, hey, can you tell me who you are?" He asks.
