Alina Windsor
Now you're probably wondering how I haven't died on the spot already. Because the elevator doors didn't open to some stranger. It happened to open to my protective older brother. Who looked like he could right hook Kingston at any moment.
But now what confused me even more, was Kingston saying his name aloud. Which mean the two knew each other and that could mean so many things. Matt didn't like a lot of people from what I've observed over the years.
He stares at him from a moment and then unexpectedly, Matt lunges at Kingston in an elevator. But he unfortunately misses and his arms land against the silver elevator doors. Then Kingston grabs his arm gaining control of him and stepping in front of me.
"You bastard! Keep your hands to yourself Romano!" Matt yells loudly as he struggled slightly attempting to break free from Kingstons grasp.
Shit, they really knew each other.
He attempts to swing at him again but Kingston catches it with his fist. "I suggest you don't do that, we both know I'd win in an arm wrestle Windsor." He looked back at me and then it seemed to register for him why Matt was so mad.
"He's your brother," he said to me in realization and then looked back to Matt struggling in his arms.
"Yeah you man whore! That's my baby sister, and she's in a vulnerable state!" Oh Jesus, this wasn't going to be good at all, "She's a virgin and waiting til marriage! You won't take that from her! Let alone that you're my best mate, and the fact that she's my sister!"
"Matt he'll restrain you fully," the words slip from my mouth and he looked over to me. Almost forgetting that I was in front of him and it wasn't just the two of them.
He let go of him and Matt leaned back against the wall clutching his hand. Then the doors finally opened to Kingston's apartment. And he gestures for Matt to go inside as I followed behind.
"Alina, you cannot date him," he says to me not so quietly as we begin to walk into his apartment.
"Matt, please... you need to understand-"
"He's bloody married for Christ sake!" He stared at Kingston fuming once more. As if he was making me an affair and cheating on his wife, "this summer he tied the knot in Italy and I hadn't seen him, now here we are?!"
"So you guys like... really know each other," the only words I can really get out. I looked to Kingston and he nods slowly.
The mention of him being his best mate made my stomach sink. Matt never had spoke of Kingston to me. I only ever heard of his high school friends including Jace.
"I didn't know he was your brother, he's the CFO of my company and we've been friends for many years." He explains and now I felt worse. Because he was friends with Matt and apparently close enough to be best.
So now Matt's two best mates had been in my court. Except I broke one's heart and married the other, this was a bloody mess. One that Matt would probably want to kill me for.
"Matt please, let's just talk about this okay?" He shook his head quickly.
"End it. This affair ends right now, this second. This is my sister Kingston, way out of line here," this seemed to tick Kingston off and he looked over to me in confirmation. But I wasn't sure if this was a proper time, or if any time was.
