Kingston Romano

I never expected Alina to be giving birth naturally. The cesarean was planned due to baby B being breached. However the second the doctor explained that was no longer the case and she could deliver naturally. It was in an instant that Alina wanted to do it naturally.

She hated surgery and feared it more than anything. It was something new I'd learned about her recently. I was stressed and nervous for her but knew she was the bravest woman this world had ever seen. My worry was news of this breaking out amidst everything. Thankfully Antony was quick with NDA's on any person that could have seen her. But now she remained wrapped in my arms as she continued to push in agony.

Wiping the sweat off her forehead, I kissed her cheek, whispering the world to her. She cursed like a sailor and claimed this was all my fault—it was. But I knew once it was over, she'd be happy.

"I can't believe you did this," she mutters out. "You can't put another one in me after this," she screams in pain as she pushes once more, breaking my hand in the process.

"Whatever you need, my love," I promise.

"And you- you do all the baby stuff. The diapers and the food and... you do it all," she cried, leaning her head back against me.

"We need you to push Mrs.Romano," the doctor urges as she resists once more.

"I promise you," I ease. "I just need you to push for me, okay?" She nodded slowly, and after a few moments, a cry broke out. Her tiny lungs screamed at the absolute top as she was lifted into the air.

"Baby B is in the house, mama. Look at your girl," the nurse urged. Her arms stretched out as a cry left her mouth. We were both speechless; she was so precious.

"Alright, let's go again, Mrs. Romano," the doctor urged as her chest caved.

"Please," she begged.

"You got this, Sunshine—"

"No, no, I can't," she sobbed. "I just want to hold my baby; I can't push again, I..." She shook her head incessantly as the tears fell.

"You are so close to the finish line; you are Alina Romano. Do you even know who you are?" She shook her head at me, "The strongest woman in the world, who's about to have her second baby. You want to meet her badly, I know you do. So let's do this; let's have another baby, Sunshine. I'd take the pain away if I could," looking unsure for a moment. She settles down and readjusts herself in my arms.

"Okay, on three, Mrs. Romano."

She was born just five minutes later. With the same curdling scream as her sister, this time, they were finally both in her arms. My head leaned over her shoulder in awe as we stared at them—the two little girls who were our whole world.

Nothing could beat this moment when your wife holds your children tight in her arms. Counting each toe and finger, whispering words they'd never understand.

It was absolute peace.

We finally found absolute peace amidst the storms that lingered. It didn't matter who or what was out there. What mattered was our little girls. "You did, Alina. You did it, baby." She chuckled softly at my words.
