Kingston Romano
The shade of light green was painted on the wall. The room beside it was a lavender and from the look on Alina's face, it didn't feel right. I knew it was because it wasn't in our home.
It was in the new one I forced us into. The one where he can't get up here. There were snipers who made sure of it, he was now on a shoot to kill order. I didn't care who did it or when. Because the days til Alina would deliver were only getting closer.
So a nursery in this place, one that's meant to feel so special. Didn't feel fully right, it wasn't meant to be here. I knew her visions in the old one. Before she fell pregnant I found the sketch she made of the room there for a baby. This one looked different. It wasn't the one she dreamt of.
It held all of her mother's touch in it. Still it didn't have her whole heart in it. I wanted to be home just as badly as her. It was now summer and we both wanted to head to the cape or Italy. One of those options were out of the question.
At eight months it was unsafe for Alina to be flying, she found herself as a hazard in general. I disagreed, though she could be quite clumsy. She was steady on her feet, just slippery with her hands.
She cried the other day when she dropped a powdered donut on the floor. She then started on how nice it would've been to have a dog to clean it up for her, as bending seemed impossible.
I told her getting a dog currently seemed impossible. Plus a pet deserves all the love and care and with two babies on the way, we could wait.
"It'll feel right soon," I assure her.
A weak smile is displayed upon her face. Her arms enclose me tight into a hug with the best of her ability, "I know..." she whispers. "I'm going to take a rest, go entertain your friends who are waiting. "One of them seems pretty scary," she mumbles out.
"Well nobody is as scary as me Sunshine," I remind her and she giggles, burying her head into my chest.

"You know your feet used to smell?" His voice gawks at me, "Like as kids I used to walk by your shoes and there was just such a distinct odor?" I scoff at his words. However laughter overpowers it from Marcello.
"Yeah his feet totally stank in high school too! His mother made him special scrubs and it eventually went away," Marcello counters now causing the other two to laugh.
"Rhys you used to not shower after the gym and you'd sleep in your sheets," I grumbled out causing him to suck in his lips. Beside him, Adira, his wife, looked disgusted.
"That's absolutely atrocious," she says gagging for a second in thought and then she shakes her head. "I can't," she gags once more turning away from him. Rhys wraps his arms tight around her as she squeals slightly.
"Hey I'm squeaky clean now babe," he claims.
"Only because your mommy made you! Hey Adira, do you bathe him also?" Nicholas spits out causing her now to laugh. This pisses Rhys off and he stands quickly as all bets are called off.
"Alright, alright... I'm not here for a show. Rhys was kind enough to come slum it with us to help," Marcello chimes in stopping the two.
