He stood laughing with some man as they walked over together. The man had a white chefs coat that looked slightly dirty. It signaled he worked here and by the looks of it, they were friends.
Whatever Kingston was saying had to be funny, because this man's face looked as red as a tomato due to laughing so hard. Something I had yet to experience from him myself.
It gains the attention of others in the restaurant as well, including the hosts. The girl now looking more confused than before and the guy seemed annoyed.
"God and we told him to not go on the jet ski with him but he never listens. Man spent the entire weekend with the tour guide following him around like some pigeon, ended up paying six grand," Kingston laughs as the guy explains some story.
"Wilson's always been an idiot. I wouldn't have paid the pigeon, that's rewarding behavior by feeding it," the two of them laugh again. The conversation didn't even seem that funny. But it must've been a story they both knew from long ago.
But I was more curious as to how he supposedly knew the chef of this restaurant. That out of all of them, Mia happens to choose this one.
"And this must be her!" The man stares at me. His black hair was slicked back and a lampshade mustache hovered over his mouth. His arms land on my shoulders as a smile seemed to enthrall him.
"Artie this is my wife, Alina, and her family," Kingston says and he peeks behind me to see my siblings. Kingstons arms pat the back of Arties leaving the host stand confused.
"I met Artie a few years ago at his first restaurant with a couple of my friends. We stayed there talking til three in the morning-"
"I couldn't kick em out! God Romano here is a genius, helped me plan out the future of my career after one bite of my food. This restaurant is here because of Romano." He boasts to him and it almost seems unbelievable, "Been waiting for you to come to this location."
"Artie has a couple different restaurants on the east coast. Best food I've ever tasted and I wanted to help him. Mia has great taste in restaurants," he looks my baby sister who now looked more excited than ever.
As Artie looks over he spots Matt and steps away from Kingston now pulling him into a hug, "Artie I didn't know you owned this spot. My mum's cottage is a couple miles out?"
"Matthew I pictured your mother in London eating crumpets if I'm being honest," he laughs causing Kingston to as well.
"You're buying me a drink for that one." Matt warns causing Artie to nod in agreement.
"Sir," the host interrupts. It makes Arties cheerful smile fade from moments ago as he looks back over at us and the groups of people behind us. Then back to the host.
"Why have they been waiting?" Artie cuts in quickly, "Nobody keeps Kingston Romano and his family waiting!" He sighs in frustration.
"We don't have a table Mr.Newhouse," the host explains. He seemed more frustrated at his boss, which surprised me. I was a hostess at a restaurant once. I never questioned the owners decisions, in fact I feared talking to him.
"We always have a table Russel. The back room is reserved for people like them." He explains and collects the menus himself haphazardly and quickly stood urging us to follow him.
