I tossed and turned in bed, not being able to fall asleep. Finally I gave up and started at the ceiling with my arms crossed behind my head. A sigh passed my my lips before I spoke into the dark room.

"I've should have known better than to cheat a friend, and waste the chance that I'd been given."

The Unspeakable guys were flying to Canada tomorrow without me. Or, more accurately, today because the time on my digital clock read 2:37 am. I unfortunately had to work so I was looking after the house for them. Oh how I wished I could go with them.

"Time can never mend the careless whispers of a good friend to the heart and mind. Ignorance is kind. There's no comfort in the truth, pain is all you'll find."

A few memories of Jordan and I whispering to each other brushed through my mind. Him and I told each other everything. I never kept things hidden from him, but there's one secret so potent, so dangerous, I had to keep it under wraps.

I eventually gave up and threw off my blankets before making my way to the kitchen for a glass of water. My bare feet padded against the wooden floors as I crept down to the kitchen. When I got down the stairs, I heard movement coming from the kitchen. Someone else was awake.

"Well I didn't think anyone else would be up," I half joked as I leaned against the doorway.

Jordan tensed before turning around. "Neither did I. What's keeping you up?"

"Couldn't sleep," I said, meandering my way to the cupboard.

"Me neither."

"Thinking about the flight to Canada?"

"You could say that. I still feel bad you can't come with us."

"There's nothing you can do about it anyway. Work won't let me off on such short notice and someone has to look after the house. You guys go, have a good time. I'll be fine here."

"I still feel bad about it. Maybe I should stay here with you so you don't have such a big house by yourself."

"I don't want you to back out on filming up there. Besides, it's too short notice for you to drop out of going now."

"Still," Jordan sighed. "It's gonna be a rough couple of weeks without you.

I blinked a couple times at what he said. He just meant that as being friends. He'd miss our late night chats wrapped in blankets while sitting on the couch.

"You wanna talk til everyone else gets up? That might hold you over for the couple weeks you're gone."

"Yeah. Sure. That's it," Jordan stopped. "Yeah. I'm gonna miss our random conversations."

"I'll grab blankets and pillows, you make popcorn?"

Jordan cracked a smile. "Only if I get my own bag."

"Was there ever any other option?" I smiled back.

I quietly ran upstairs, grabbing a blanket and my pillow on my bed before trotting back downstairs. By the time I got back downstairs, Jordan had everything all set up, even with flashlights set up all around the place for ambient lighting. I wrapped myself in my blanket and curled up on the couch for the probable saddest late night talk I ever had with Jordan.

The sky was turning pink when I finally fell asleep that night. When I woke up, the sun was high in the sky. The gentle rise and fall beneath my head told me that I wasn't on my pillow. The rumble from beneath my ear tipped me off even more. I was laying on Jordan's chest.

"Good morning, (Y/n)."

I blushed at his morning voice and moved my head off his chest. The guys were already walking around.

"Glad to see you two are awake. Our flight leaves in two hours. We need to get to the airport," Nathan told Jordan.

"Crap. Thanks Nathan."

I stood up and let Jordan get by me so he could grab his bags. Luckily, I had off work today so I volunteered to drive the group to the airport. I slowly walked my way upstairs to get dressed. I threw on some comfortable clothes, considering I'd be gorging myself on ice cream when I got back home. I was brushing my hair when I heard a knock on my door.

"It's open!" I called before turning back to my mirror.

"I still feel bad about you not coming along with us."

"Jordan, I told you, there's nothing you can do about it. And if you don't stop apologizing, I'm not gonna talk to you even after you come back," I joked.

"Ok, ok." Jordan put his hands up defensively. "You ready to go?"

"Yep. Coming down now."

Jordan and I walked down the stairs where we met up with everyone else.

"We ready to go?" Nathan asked.

"Yeah," I said, grabbing my keys. "Let's get going."

The boys all piled into the car, Jordan claiming shotgun. The drive to the airport was noisy from everyone else in the car, but me. I stayed quiet, saddened by my not being able to see Jordan for two weeks.

I helped them carry their bags to security, where I couldn't go past. The airport was incredibly crowded. Some indistinguishable music flowed through the concrete walls. Even though I could barely hear what song was playing, the music seems so loud tonight. I wish that I could lose this crowd and go back home with Jordan. Maybe it's better this way. We'd hurt each other with the things we'd say.

The guys all went through security easily, but Jordan held back. "I'm gonna miss you (Y/n)."

"Same here, but you'll be back in no time," I laughed, and playfully punched him in the arm. "Maybe you'll even find a cute Canadian girl to help take your mind off everything here."

He didn't say anything after that so I just turned away. We could have been so good together. We could have lived this dance forever. But now, who's gonna dance with me?

"Bye, guys."

"(Y/n), wait!" Jordan called.

"What Jordan?" I asked, tears threatening my eyes.

"I don't want-. I can't -. I wish-."

"I know what you're gonna say. You wish I could come with you but I can't."

"It's not that. I just wish I could say what's really on my mind."

All my thoughts were directed at one simple message: please stay.

Jordan let out an exasperated sigh before grabbing my wrist and pulling me into a kiss.

I froze immediately before melting into it. I couldn't believe this was happening. Too soon he pulled away.

"I'll see you in two weeks," he said before winking at me. He turned around and walked further into the airport, out of my view.

I'm never gonna dance again, guilty feet have got no rhythm. Though it's easy to pretend, I know you're not a fool.

I stood there surprised for who knew how long, smiling like an idiot, until someone pulled me out of my thoughts.

"Are you ok dear?" an older lady asked me.

I delicately brushed my fingers over my lips and mumbled, "Yeah. Everything's fine."
