Chapter 019

019 

After that day, news spread around the campus that Xander decided to end his relationship with Marielle on their 1st monthsary. Hindi ko alam kung totoo yun since Xander didn't confirmed it yet, pero hindi ko rin alam kung matutuwa ba ako sa nangyayari or what.

Xander breaking up with Marielle.. what could be the reason? The curiosity kills me, and I don't know, I just feel nervous about this. He told me the other day na he will end something.. could this be it? So.. am I part of the reason why Xander decided this? Hah, hindi ako alam, ang sakit na sa ulo.

"Anong problema?" tanong ni Jared sa akin. I shook my head in reply, pero Jared kept on staring at me, intimidating me. I sighed in defeat.

"Kasi naman.. nung isang araw, Xander told me he will end something. Iniisip ko kung.. ito ba yun, yung rumor na break na sila ni Marielle."
"Baka nga." he replied, and gave a slight nod.

I sighed and stood up. "O sige, pupunta lang ako ng CR ah." tumango lang si Jared at pumunta na akong CR. Wala namang katao-tao, which is a good thing. I stared at myself in the mirror, and washed my hands. Ina-adjust ko lang nang kaunti yung eyeglasses ko when someone came out from a cubicle.

Marielle. She just cried, alam ko. Kasi naman, her make-up is ruined, na-smudge na yung mascara niya. She looks stressed too. She went beside me, washed her face and retouched her make-up. I just watched her doing so nang tumingin siya sa akin, and she's angry, I think.

"Do you believe doon sa rumor?" she asked.

"W-what rumor?"
"Duh. Yung sa amin ni Xander. About our break-up." 

"I don't know. Is it.. true?"

She nodded angrily. "Alam mo ba kung anong sinabi sa akin ni Xander? He told me he's sorry, he told me na hindi niya daw ako gusto from the start. That.. he likes someone, at hindi ako yun. Na.. he just used me. Alam mo ba yun?"

I shook my head.

"Kapag nakilala ko kung sino man yang babaeng gusto ni Xander, I'll destroy her."

Napalunok ako ng laway. Nakakatakot si Marielle, she's so mad na parang ibang tao na siya. Pero.. Xander just used her and he likes someone else? H-huh..? Ibig-sabihin.. hindi si Marielle ang gusto niya. Who is it kaya? Kawawa naman siya, I pity her. Marielle's so mad with that girl.. 

Lumabas na si Marielle ng CR at sumunod na rin ako. Tumunog na ang bell, kaya nag-bye na ako kay Jared and went in sa classroom. Pero.. when I went in, everyone's staring at me. Nandoon na rin si Marielle, and when she saw me, she glared. May mga kasama siyang ibang girls, and they are glaring at me too.

I slowly walked in the classroom. I passed by them when suddenly Marielle grabbed my arm. Ang sakit ng pagkakahawak niya sa braso ko, sobrang higpit.

"You.. I trusted you.." she told me. Napatingin ako sa kanya. Ano bang ginawa ko? Why is she suddenly mad at me..?
"M-marielle.. ba.. bakit?"

"Don't act like you don't know anything, Audrey. Niloko mo lang ako.. niloko niyo ko ni Xander."

"I don't know what are you talking about.." 

She pushed me away, very hard. Nahulog ako doon sa floor. Marielle's crying now, and kino-comfort siya ng mga ibang girls doon, and they whisper things. I stood up by myself, and lumapit kay Marielle. I was about to pat her back when she shoved me away. She glared at me with those mad eyes.

She started to call me names, even saying foul words. Why is she doing this? Ano bang kasalanan ko sa kanya? Tears started to form, and I'm trying to hold it back. 

Marielle raised her hand up to eye level, and sasampalin niya ako. I closed my eyes pero.. I was surprised when I didn't felt the pain at all. And there were gasps, and when I opened my eyes.. tuluyan nang tumulo ang mga luha ko. There's Xander, holding Marielle's hand, in front me.. protecting me.

"Xander! Xander.. totoo bang.. the reason why you broke up with me is because of this girl? Because.. you fell in love with your best friend, Audrey?" she asked Xander.

Xander lowered his head. Lahat ay nakatingin sa kanya, even me. So.. someone told Marielle na ako yung dahilan kung bakit nakipag-break si Xander sa kanya.. but.. hindi naman totoo yun diba? I mean, Xander doesn't like me. 

I stared at Xander and shook my head. I was about to deny that when Xander spoke up.

"Oo.. that's true. I am in love with Audrey."
