you feel insecure about your acne

Tzuyu ran the brush through her damp hair to remove all the tangles from her long locks.

As she did so, she watched from the corner of her eyes as you put your shirt on and then looked in the mirror.

Today, the two of you have plans to meet your parents for lunch and you're excited to see them for the first time in a while.

She knows how much you've missed them since you haven't had the time to see them recently due to how crazy life can get so when she noticed that you weren't smiling or rambling excitedly, she got a little worried.

"Are you okay? You seem quiet." She said as she finished brushing her hair.

After putting the brush back in the drawer, she wrapped her arms around you and noticed how obsessively you were looking at your reflection.

"Baby?"

"I'm sorry. I guess I zoned out a bit."

You let out a sigh and brushed your fingers across your cheek.

"I wish my acne would go away. It looks hideous."

Your words felt like a stab to her heart because she hates hearing you talk about yourself like that.

"It does not look hideous."

"Yes, it does. Look how much of it I have."

You turned to gaze at her and she shook her head with a sweet smile.

"You only have a few pimples, baby, and everyone breaks out from time to time. It's normal."

You lowered your head and she could tell that your mind was wandering with negative thoughts about yourself and your acne.

She knows how much you hate when your skin breaks out and although you try your very hardest to take good care of your skin, sometimes acne still happens.

It happens to everybody but since you're your own biggest critic, you're always hard on yourself, even for things that are out of your control.

She lifted your chin and looked into your eyes with her soft ones before letting them travel along your skin.

Her gaze was filled with adoration, as it always is anytime she looks at you.

"You know I don't like it when you're hard on yourself."

"I just feel insecure." You confessed, your teeth sinking into your lip nervously. "What if fans or paparazzi show up while we're out today and they take pictures of me like this?"

"It doesn't matter. You're human, baby, acne happens."

"I could use some cover-up."

You went to turn around so you could dig through the drawers and find your cover-up.

But Tzuyu stopped you before you could.

"You don't need to do that nor do you need to feel bad about yourself. Everyone goes through this and a lot of people feel a little insecure sometimes. But whether you have acne all over your face or just a couple of pimples here and there, you are still so beautiful."

She watched your eyes sparkle a little and she knew that her loving words were boosting your self-esteem.

"I think you're the most beautiful girl in the world. You know that? And I will always think you're beautiful. No matter what happens, you will always take my breath away. I love you and I want you to be kinder to yourself. Things like this happen, you know that just as much as I do. But they'll go away in time. Until then, I'll just tell you time and time again that you're gorgeous just as you are."

You wrapped your arms around her neck before leaning in to kiss her lips and she instantly melted.

"I love you too."

Her lips tugged up into a little smile before her fingers brushed along your back.

"I want you to love yourself. I know it can be hard sometimes but you deserve it. I know you think you have flaws and that you wish you get insecure sometimes but you're perfect just the way you are in my eyes. Treat yourself with love, baby. Stop overthinking and just be kinder to yourself."

"I'll try." You promised.

"I'll encourage you. You'll get there." She whispered before kissing your head. "And I'll love always be here to love you and make you feel better whenever you need. I'm always happy to remind you that you're beautiful."
