she comes home to find you asleep

The house was oddly quiet when Tzuyu came inside. Though the sun was hidden behind the clouds, it was only because the rain was still coming down like it's been all day, and it's still only early evening now, making Tzuyu worry a little with how quiet everything was.

Usually, if you're home when she gets home, you're sat on the couch with your favorite show or a movie you've been wanting to see on and a cozy throw blanket over your lap. But you weren't there today and the remote was in the same place it'd been when she left this morning.

She climbed the stairs quickly and went down the hall. She froze on her feet for a split second when she heard something familiar; a voice that she recognized from your favorite show, since you watch it together quite often. It was coming from your shared bedroom and when she stood in the doorway a rush of relief washed over her.

You looked so cute. Laying in bed, remote in your hand, you were fast asleep with your lips parted slightly as your chest steadily rose and fell. The blanket was at your feet so she draped it over you and planted a lingering kiss to your forehead.

To let you sleep more, she figured she'd go downstairs and occupy herself there. But before she could even move you were grabbing her wrist gently. Holding back the bright smile on her face was impossible when you opened your eyes and met her own.

"You're home." You said as you stretched your legs out.

"I'm home, sleepyhead." She giggled as she brushed her fingers through your hair, careful not to hurt you when she encountered a tangle here and there. "You must be tired if you're sleeping this early."

"A little." You shrugged. "Why were you gonna leave? You just got home."

"I was gonna let you sleep more. I didn't wanna disturb your sleep." She whispered softly, a tiny smile tugging at her lips when she saw a lazy one pulling at yours.

"No. Lay with me. Cuddle me." You let go of her wrist and patted her side of the bed.

"Well, okay. I can't resist spending time with you."

She giggled when she climbed under the covers with you and you were throwing your arms around her, immediately resting your head on her chest with a precious smile on your face. "Much better." You mumbled.

She felt her heart beat a little faster when you said that and she was sure you could tell with your ear pressed against her chest. She noticed that your eyes were closed so she let her head fall to the pillow while her arm went around you to hold onto you.

"Sleep tight." She whispered softly as she stared down at you, watching your eyelashes flutter against your cheeks as you drifted off to sleep once again.
