To say the past week had dragged by was a huge understatement, between Luke's newly found spontaneous visits to my apartment for make out sessions and working stupidly long hours at Frequencies I hardly had time to sit down on my sofa and just think. If I wasn't at school, I was sleeping or working.
But eventually I sorted out my schedule by cutting back the hours I work from 6 to 4 and decided sleep was for the weak - I was going to stay up at night.
And that's exactly what I was doing.
I lay on the floor in the living room, the room in complete darkness as the second Avengers movie plays on the flat screen, providing an artificial light cast around the room.
Me and Luke had somehow spent the evening scrolling through Netflix to find a half decent movie to watch yet after watching the first 5 minutes of basically every movie on there we gave up, resorting to running over to Frequencies before they shut and going to the DVD section.
Of course Luke couldn't see the fascination as I held Avengers: Age Of Ultron tightly in my hands, but soon came to the realisation when he saw that Aaron Taylor Johnson was featured in the movie.
And now here we were on the floor, surrounded by my duvet and blankets as he whispered sweet nothings into my ear. He lay sat upright with his back pressed firmly against the bottom of the sofa as I lay in between his legs, using his lower stomach as a pillow, the screen constantly bobbing up and down slightly, due to Luke's slow and steady breaths.
'How did we end up here?' I whisper, looking backwards to Luke who was already looking at me.
'Hmm?' He replies quietly, playing with strands of my hair, maybe if he would stop making me feel this way then I would have the capability to speak like a normal person.
'Like, how did we end up talking?' I ask, shuffling up so I was eye level with him. I rest my head on his chest, just to the side of his heart, looking up at him.
'In the diner I think' he muffles, nestling his face in my hair. I feel his warm breath on my skin sending shivers through my entire body.
I remember back to the day, spontaneously seeing Luke as I was looking at the Ecstacyrush messages receive in my phone.
The way he just randomly slid into my booth equipped with a coffee in his hand and a big ass ego to match.
'Oh so is it normal that he hits you?' He smugly said, but little did he know that he had it all compl-
'Belle' Luke sighs, his arm snaking around my waist, pulling me onto his lap. I hoist myself into his lap as his legs come together, me now sat across them.
'Yeah?' I reply.
'Did Louis really leave all those bruises all over you?' He stutters, now looking at our entwined fingers.
A knot grows deep inside of me, like a build up of everything I had shut out, yet now here I was, a sponge to my past.
'No-..?' I reply, more a question to myself as to why I had been dumb enough to actually spill half the truth.
He tenses up beneath me. 'But if he didn't then who d-'
I abruptly get up, almost tripping over the duvet loosely placed below us. I head to the window staring out across the span of the city lights, whenever I felt like things were getting too much, this was what I would do, look out at something bigger and it would make me seem smaller again.
When it felt like the whole world was against me, I would look out at something bigger and all my worries would wash away within the large engulfing span of world in front of me.
