Chapter sixty-seven: Zoya's letter to Tayyal. (Part Two).
After Zianna received Zoya’s letter, a few months passed, and Tayyal's routine changed.
He looked different, thinner and had eye bags under his eyes.
Dahlia knew it was time for him to receive the letter that Zoya had left for him and for his future wife.
Plus their daughter.
While Tayyal was preparing breakfast for Aizah, Dahlia slid the letter on the kitchen counter.
“What is this?” Tayyal asked, but before Dahlia could say anything, he immediately knew who wrote that letter. “Zoya, where did you get them?” He asked, wiping his hands with a kitchen towel.
“She gave me the day of the accident and asked me to deliver them when it is time. I have been watching you struggle, and I knew it was time for you to receive the letter. There are three letters inside. One for you, one for Aizah and one for the person you marry in future”, Dahlia explains. “She wrote them and didn't tell me what they contained. I gave Zianna hers a few months back. The day Azhar took her to Umra,” she added.
Tayyal picked up the three envelopes and caressed his late wife’s handwriting.
“Zoya…”
“Go and read yours. I will find preparing breakfast for all of us, okay?”
Tayyal nodded and walked out of the kitchen holding back tears. He walked into his study and closed the door.
He stared at the three envelopes in front of him and picked up the one that said, ‘ To Tayyal's future wife.’
Did Zoya know that she would die? No one can replace her in mine and Aizah's life. We will always be a family.
Tayyal sat in his chair and opened the letter addressed to him.
Inside was a picture of Zoya, Aizah and him after a few hours of giving birth. It was one of the important memories that Tay would never forget.
And something else fell on top of the desk.
A flash drive.
Tayyal picked it and studied it for a while before putting it down.
He picked up the letter and started reading it.
My love,
Tay, how are you? I am sorry…that I am not there to help you raise our daughter. Our beautiful Aizah.
I know that you miss me every day of your life but remember you also need to live your life.
Be happy, Tayyal. For Aizah and even for yourself.
Remember what you promised when we got married. You promised you would fulfil every wish I had.
I have a wish for you, Habibty. I wish for you to give Aizah a mother and yourself a wife. But not some random woman you just met. Someone who will capture your heart even before you see her.
That woman will be chosen by Aizah…and me. Aizah is a part of me and you.
I left two things for you, my love. A picture of the three of us and a flash drive for you to watch when you finish reading this letter.
And I know that Dahlia has given you two more letters, right?
You can nod, no one is watching you.
One letter is for Aizah, when she is old enough to understand why her Mamma is different and doesn't look like her.
