Review-
“Honey, I believe you know Ms. Simpson, Mr. Johnsen, and their son Frankie.”
I walked around the couch to an empty chair and sure enough sitting on my couch in my living room in my house was the great torturer himself.
“Oh Ellie, it is wonderful to see you again,” Ms. Simpson said.
“Yes, yes it is. It has been a long time.”
There were a billion thoughts running through my mind. Had my parents gone insane? Why were they making me marry Frankie? Was there something that I didn’t know about him or his family? I mean there probably was since we hadn’t really talked since we were frickin eight years old. Why does this have to happen to…?
“Ellie, are you all right. You just kind of spaced,” my mother said.
No I’m not fine. You are marrying me off to a complete asshole who hates me and I hate him…I think.
“Uhh… yeah fine.”
“All right then. Should we tell you the whole story or would you like to just ask questions?” my father said.
“Story,” Frankie and I said at the same time.
“All right, well when you were younger, as you both should remember, you were the best of friends. When you guys were about six years old, we, parents, sat down to talk. We decided since you both got along so well that when you both were of age, you would marry. There was nothing more than feelings involved in our decision. Patty and I really like you Ellie and Jim and Sally really like Frankie. So it was decided that you two would marry.”
*flashback*
“I am so glad that the children are getting along. I was worried that they wouldn’t,” Patty said.
“I am glad too. They would make the perfect couple. They get along and hardly ever fight. They are always so nice to one another.”
Jim and Frank nodded in agreement.
“Now I know this may seem like a really outdated and highly illogical question but how about an arranged marriage for the children?” Jim suggested.
“You mean to each other?” Patty asked.
“Yes why not. They get along well enough. I mean it wouldn’t happen until they were eighteen and we don’t have to tell them for a while.”
“Yes, I see your point. You know what why not. Why don’t we on Monday have a lawyer make up a contract and we will all sign it, so it is legal. That way if they try and fight it, they can’t,” Frank suggested.
They all nodded in agreement.
*end flashback*
(Author note: Patty and Frank are Frankie’s parents. Jim and Sally are Ellie’s.)
This was a lot to take in at the moment. I really did not know what to do.
“Oh and you both will be sharing an apartment until the wedding. So Frankie, why don’t you accompany Ellie to her room and help her pack. Then we will all go out to dinner,” Frank said.
Frankie and I just nodded. I lead him upstairs to my room. Once we were there, I closed the door.
“Umm I all ready packed. I did it yesterday.”
“Oh good. I didn’t want to help you anyway.”
I just looked at him and glared. God, he made me sooooooo mad. I could not decide whether I wanted to kick him or kiss him. Whoa, where did that come from?
“What did I do to make you hate me so much?”
He looked up in surprise. I don’t think he was expecting that kind of question.
“I…I don’t hate you,” he mumbled.
“What?”
“I don’t hate you all right.”
“Really, then why do you treat me like a low life pain in the ass?”
Frankie POV
I really didn’t know how to answer that question. I mean I didn’t like treating her like that but I really didn’t know what else to do. My conscious told me to tell her the truth.
