Finally today was graduation and everyone was excited. The guys had all gone out for breakfast while Torie and I decided to stay home and make breakfast here. Torie had just gone to the bathroom and I was getting everything ready to make.
“Ellie Grace Dunham, what the hell is this?”
I ran to the bathroom and stopped immediately once I saw what Torie was yelling about. There in her hand, she held the pregnancy test I bought last night.
“A pretty box.”
“Why the hell do you need a pregnancy test?”
“Because I think I might be pregnant okay?”
She just kind of stared at me with her mouth ajar.
“You know you are going to start catching flies if you keep your mouth like that.”
“Have you taken the test yet?” she asked.
I just shook my head. I was nervous about what the test would say.
“Well you should take it right now.” She said handing me the box.
“Oh all right fine.”
She walked out of the bathroom so I could pee in private. Once I peed on the stick, I set it on the counter and walked out of the bathroom.
“How long do we have to wait?”
“The box said wait about five minutes.”
“Okay well shall we start breakfast then or do you want to wait?”
“Let’s just wait.”
*five minutes later*
Torie and I walked into the bathroom and she picked up the stick. She looked at it and then looked at the box. Her face remained emotionless.
“Well what is it? What does it say?”
She looked up at me and then down at the test.
“It’s positive.”
I sunk down to the floor in shock. I couldn’t believe that I was pregnant. What was I going to do? I wasn’t ready to be a mother. I wasn’t even married yet. I started to hyper ventilate.
“Oh my god, oh my god. I…I…”
“Ellie, look at me.”
I looked at her and calmed down just a little bit.
“Everything is going to be okay. You are going to be married in a few months and you have the support of a great family. You will be just fine.”
“How can you say that? I am only eighteen years old and I don’t think I am ready to be a wife and mother.”
“You will be just fine. Don’t dwell on it because we are graduating here in a few hours and I would like to eat before then.”
“Oh okay.”
I shoved the positive pregnancy test into the back of my mind. I really didn’t want to think about it right now. I would get graduation over with first then deal with it. Torie and I made breakfast then got ready for graduation.
“The guys are meeting us there right?”
“Yeah, they said they would be waiting for us.”
We finished getting ready and walked down to my car. We drove to the arena where the graduation was held. As soon as we walked into the building, we were met by the guys. We went and sat down in the student area and waited for the chaos to begin.
*one hour later*
The six of us were finally in line for receiving the diploma. We all sat together so we could walk together.
“Mitchell C. Moore.”
“William T. Monroe.”
“Torie Lynn James.”
“Dusty Michael Williams.”
“Franklin T. Johnsen.”
“Giselle Grace Dunham.”
There was lots of cheering from where all of our parents were seated. We all walked back to our seats and were smiling as big as possible. Everyone was also excited because my parents were hosting a post-graduation party.
*post-graduation party*
There were a lot of people and a lot of food when the six of us arrived at my parent’s house. Everyone ran towards the food because we were starving. There was music and dancing. It was totally fun.
“Let’s party until the wee hours of the night,” Torie said grinning.
When I finally got a moment to myself, my thoughts fluttered back to the positive pregnancy test. I really didn’t know how I was going to tell everyone let alone deal with their reactions.
“Oh there you are, I thought you had been kidnapped or something.”
“Hi mom, no I am fine. Just stealing a moment away from the others.”
“Oh are you all right sweetheart? You look a little pale.”
“I think it is just from the excitement from the day. It was a pretty big day.”
“Well why don’t you head up and go to bed. I think it would be safe to say that you all are going to sleep here for the night.”
“Oh okay. I think I will. Goodnight mom.”
“Goodnight sweetie.”
I walked upstairs and saw that everyone was in the process of being shown the rooms they would stay in. I walked into the one I had seen Frankie walk into. I shut the door behind me and immediately stripped down to my bra and underwear. I crawled into the bed and knew nothing until the morning.
