"Dinners ready!" I call from the kitchen. I hear my family's footsteps as I'm setting the table.

"Smells great sweetie." My mother says setting my little brother, Edmond, in his high chair.

I see my dad sitting down from around the corner in the dinning room.

There's a loud crash.

Edmond is screaming.

Mom is crying.

Dad is on the floor with a pool of blood around him.

There's two men in black masks taking our stuff. Another pointing a gun at my mom.

I'm frozen with fear.

The man shoots my mom, she falls limp to the ground.

I grab Edmond and crouch to the ground squeezing my eyes shut, fearing what will happen next.

All of the sudden the house is quiet.

I make the mistake of opening my eyes.

Pain.

Blood.

The baby is not making any noise.

With one last look the men run out the door, leaving me and my family to die.
