Jacobs POV
It hurts.
It hurts even more to watch her cry.
She cried so long that she passed out.
They took her to recovery and I sat by her bedside. Her eyelids start to flutter open and close.
"Hey," I say squeezing her hand.
"It feels like a dream. A horrible dream."
"I know."
"Where are the twins?"
"With Alyssa, she's staying with them at the house. I called and told her everything." She tries to sit up, but winces in pain. "Don't. Lay down, you need to rest."
I could see tears pouring down her face.
"It's going to be okay."
"No, no it's not! Everybody that comes here gets to go home with their babies. I don't get to! It's not okay Jacob! This isn't fair!" She buries her face in her hands.
I hate to see her in pain.
"I know, I know. I'm sorry." I moved to sit on the bed with her and she immediately hugged me and cried into my chest.
She is discharged from the hospital the next day.
As soon as we came through the door the twins were laughing and ran to us. I kneel down as they smothered me in a hug.
Evi walks straight to the bedroom not saying a word.
"How is she?" Alyssa asks me.
"Not good. I think seeing the twins was hard on her."
"I'm going to go. Call me if you need anything."
"Thank you. I will." I say closing the door behind her.
"Hey, do you wanna go see mommy?" I ask them. They nodded their heads and squeal in excitement.
I walk to our bedroom, the twins following behind. I open the door to find her sitting in the bed her back to the door.
"Go give her a kiss." I whisper to the girls.
They run up to Evi and she turns around.
"Hey," she says trying to sound excited."Mommy!" The girls mumble reaching their arms up for her to pick them up. I lifted the girls up in the bed. The both grabbed her face planting a sloppy kiss on her cheek. She laughs lightly and kisses them back.
They try to jump on her but I grab them before they could. "You can't do that to mommy. That hurts her, you have to be gentle."
Evi starts crying again. "Mommy why you sad?" Scarlett crawls over to sit next to her.
"No reason." She flashes her a small smile.
The girls fall asleep on the floor after playing for a while.
"Are you okay?"
"I will be."

Evangelina's POV
I finally roll out of bed for the first time this week. I probably wouldn't have if I wasn't so hungry.
"So when do you want to start looking for vacation houses in Italy?" I ask Jacob.
"I actually already have. I found this great one close to your mom. It's five bedrooms."
"Make an offer on it."
"Really? You don't want to even look at it?"
"No I'm sure it will be fine."
"Okay, I'll call later."
There was a long period of silence.
"We still have to decide if we want to cremate or bury him." Jacob says, almost a whisper.
"I feel like if we bury him that I will never want to leave the town that he is buried at. So I think cremation is the best way to go. Then we can take him to Italy with us. Maybe even put the ashes in the local church."
He nods his head. "I'm so sorry."
"You don't have to keep apologizing."
"I feel like this is all my fault."
"How could any of this be your fault?"
"Because I didn't want to lose you. If we could have waited another week maybe, just maybe he would have lived."
