Jacob's POV

Chemo sucks.

I throw up for about two days straight after every dose.

"I'm so sorry. I hate that you have to go through this." Evi says with her hand on my back as I threw up.

"Ugh. Cancer sucks."

"I'm so sorry."

"Don't be sorry. I should be sorry you don't have to sit here with me when I'm sick."

"Yes I do, in sickness and in health remember?"

"That's sweet, but this is disgusting."

"It's only for another day and then it will start to wear off."

"I know, but I have ten more rounds of it still."

"Hey, you will get through this okay?" I nod my head.

Evangelina's POV

I hate seeing him like this. He looks so miserable. I can't believe he has five more months of this.

I hate leaving him at home by himself when I have to go to work.

"What the hell? Jacob, do you smell that? It smells like something is on fire." We both started following the burning smell.

"Call the fire department, grab the girls and go out side. I think it's coming from down stairs."

He opened the door to the studio.

"Oh my god, it's all on fire. We need to get out of here."

There is flames crawling up the steps getting higher and higher. I call the fire department and they get here right away. There was a gas leak starting in the basement.

None of the pictures were ruined they were all on the other side of the room. But it was a good thing we got out when we did.

"Well that was interesting," i say plopping down on the couch.

"Insurance should cover everything."

"Could this day get any worse?" i complain.

"Don't jinx it."

"Alright people listen up! You have exactly two hours to finish your intern exam. Pass and you are a resident. Fail and you repeat your internship again. Go."

I flip over the thick test booklet and begin to read the first question.

This looks easy enough.

The two hours fly by quickly and I'm the third one done.

"So what did you think?" Alyssa asks me on the way out of the testing room.

"I think I did good, you?"

"I guarantee I passed the test with flying colors!"

"Your so full of yourself!"

The chemo effects are starting to wear off and Jacob is feeling better.

"Okay the girls are asleep. They should sleep all night, we'll see I guess."

"I miss you." he says pulling close.

"I'm right here?"

"I know but I want you by my side all day. I miss you when you're not here."

He kisses me soft and slow. I sighed into his mouth and he starting laughing at me.

"What?"

"Nothing, I just love you." He smashes his lips onto mine. Pushing me back on the bed he pinned me down, kissing me violently.

He slowly slid his hands up to my stomach, sliding my shirt off in one swift motion.

Jacob's POV

God she is so beautiful. And she is all mine. She laughs the same sweet laugh she had when were just kids, when I kiss her neck.

I love this woman.

Afterwards she falls asleep on my chest. She is so tiny. She looks even smaller laying on me. I play with her hair and watch her sleep for a while before drifting off myself.

I am awoken by her moving around.

"It's freezing in here." She puts on my shirt and grabs an extra blanket.

"Do you want me to turn up the heat?"

"No, it being cold gives me and excuse to snuggle up close to you." I kiss the tip of her nose making her laugh as she lays back down.

I flipped her into her back and left a trail of kisses starting at her navel all the way up to her mouth.

"Are you really up for round two?"

"I'm always up for round two."

Evangelina's POV

I wake up to the sun pouring in through the windows and Jacobs heavy arm draped over my stomach.

"Morning."

"Morning." He pulls me over so I was facing him.

"The babies slept all night."

"I know." he says sounding surprised.

I threw up my hair into a sloppy bun on top of my head. I was only wearing Jacobs shirt that hardly came down past my butt. Whatever.

We both walk into the girls rooms to find them both awake and making noises at each other. We change their diapers and let them play in the living room.

I make coffee and Jacob starts a movie. Our family Sunday consisted of us watching movies and playing with our daughters.

"I forgot to ask. How did the test go?"

"Oh yeah, I'm pretty sure I passed. I mean I didn't think it was that difficult. I knew all of the answers. Or at least I think I knew them."

"When are they emailing the results?"

"They said by noon."

"Have you checked your email?"

"No. What time is it?"

"It's ten till noon."

I grab my computer and pull up my email.

"I passed!"

"I knew you would." He congratulates me with a big smile on his face.

"Say hello to your knew fellow resident."
