After hours

Chapter 42

Alyssa's POV

Hunter Marie West, 5lbs 12oz, 14in long.
Hazel Kate West, 5lbs 7oz, 13 1/4in long.
Harmony Claire West, 5lbs 8oz, 13in long.
Johnny Dale West, 5lbs 3oz, 14in long.
Jett Edward West, 5lbs 8oz, 14 1/4in long.
Jonah Tate West, 4lbs 1oz, 12 1/3in long.

They're perfect. All of them. I love them so much.

Since we have our own practice Evi wheeled their incubators into my patient room. She said it would even be easier, since I'm still a patient to have us all in the same room.

Hunter, is already breathing on her own so we can take her out of the incubator, she's not attached to any wires or breathing devices.

Jonah, he's the one with the bad heart. I say bad, but it's not, he's just the most under developed of the six of them. He's got the most wires and machines hooked up to him.

Hopefully he'll recover fast.

I'm sitting in my hospital bed, playing with Hunter when Justin arrives.

"Hey," he smiles, "look who's awake." He sits down next to me. "Where's your mom?"

"She left a little while ago, she needed to get some sleep. She hasn't even been home yet."

"Look at this." He holds up a magazine. On the cover is Jacob, Evi, Justin, and I. It's from the opening day of the practice. "There is an article about us and one about Evi and Jacob." He flips to our page and reads aloud.

Doctor Alyssa Rios-West and husband, CEO of Hakins Footwear, Justin West, (brother to Doctor Jacob West), just welcomed their sextuplets into the world on November 12th. There are three healthy boys, and three healthy girls. She got to have them in their new Private Practice, West Foundation Hospital. Her sister-in-law and best friend, Doctor Evangelina Stevens-West delivered the sextuplets. We know she is wanting to take some time off work, but hopefully the amazing surgeon will be back to treat Florida's unfortunate.

"Wow."

"I know right? My beautiful wife, amazing surgeon." He leans over and kisses me on the cheek. "Also, I wanted to talk to you, Evi and Jacob but I might as well tell you now. TLC network has offered us a show."

"A show?"

"A reality show. What we do outside of work. Our family and Jacob and Evi's."

"Wow. Are we seriously considering this?"

"I think it would be a good idea. We just have to ask them."

"I just don't-" I start, but am interrupted by a knock on the door followed by Evi entering.

"Hey! Time to feed the babies, and you're going to have to pump for Jonah, he's still to little for you to breast feed."

I feed them one by one, and then have to put that weird machine on me. I hate pumping, it's so strange.

When I have enough to feed Jonah, Evi gets him out of the incubator.

The nurse pores the milk into a small bottle, small enough for him to fit in his mouth.

It's the fist time I've been able to feed him. Usually Evi does it without taking him out of the incubator.
