Luke:

You and your family just had dinner with your boyfriend, Luke. It was the first time that your parents were meeting Luke even though you two have been together for about a month now. The reason you waited so long for them to meet Luke was you knew your parents were going to judge him right away. And were you right. Once Luke had left your dad said, "I don't want you seeing him anymore." You wanted to say that you were shocked by your dad remark, but you kinda had already expected. You knew from the beginning that they were going to judge especially since he's in a band after all. Your parents were the type of parents that say you should be with someone who can help support you and your future family. So when Luke mentioned him being in a band and was going to make that his career, they were quick to disapprove. "Why not? He cares about me a lot, just as much as I do." You tell your father, annoyed at the fact he wants you to break up with your boyfriend. You didn't understand why he couldn't see the good qualities in Luke. "Y/N, he's in a band! That's no job. What if it doesn't work out? He doesn't have a second plan because he dropped out of school! Now what kind of influences are that?" Your dad says angrily. Of course that would be the only thing he focused on through the whole night Luke was there. "Your father's right, Y/N. Without an education he can't go far." Typical of your parents to say that. But you didn't care because you knew that Luke was capable of great things. "Is that all you care?! You should be happy that I found someone who makes me happy and treats me the way I should be treated - with respect. And for your information, Luke is finishing school. He's being homeschooled. So does that show you how serious about his life? Even with all the band stuff, he still studies and is completing school. That right there should show you how responsible Luke actually is." You defend. Your parents look at you stunned. "Maybe we were too quick on judging Luke. He does seem like a really nice boy." Your dad says after realizing all the the things you said about him. "He is. That's why we're together."

Calum:

You had just gotten back from your date with Cal. "G'night, babe." He says, pecking your lips before you go inside. "Good night." You smile. You walk into your house, the smile still on your lips. "Who was that?" Your mom asks as you walk into the kitchen. "Calum, my boyfriend." You reply. Calum and you had just started dating recently and you haven't yet introduced Cal to your mom. You felt like the timing was too soon. "Why didn't he come in and say hello?" Your mom asks. You simply told her what you felt. "It's too soon to be meeting anyone. We just started dating." Your mom looked at you with disapproving look. "Well at least tell me a bit about the guy my daughter's dating." She says. You sigh before telling her somethings about him. "He's the same age as me. He has an older sister. He loves dogs. And he's in a band." You smiled at the thought of him. "He's in a band?" Your mom asks. "Yeah." You shrug. You didn't think think it was a big deal that Calum was in a band. In fact you thought it was pretty cool. "He's going on tour with his band pretty soon." You add. "Y/N you can do better than this." Your mother's remark caught you off guard. "What do you mean? You haven't even met him." Your mom wasn't usually the one to judge a person she hasn't met before, but her comments can be harsh sometimes. This is why you got nervous when she said that even though the haven't met. "He's in a band. He's going on tour again soon. Don't you think about all the groupies he's going to meet. Do you trust him well enough to hold a long distance relationship? Just think about it." This comment of hers outraged you. She doesn't even know Calum and she's already questioning his trust and loyalty. You weren't going to take this from her. "You don't know him and you're doubting him already?! Unlike you, I know that he'd never cheat on me nor think about it. We really care about each other and we'll stay loyal because that shows the respect we have for each other. Don't judge a book by it's cover." You left your mom speechless to say the least. You said good night to her and left to your bedroom. You didn't have to deal with that especially if your mom has never met Calum.
