Chapter 27: Truth

Normal POV

"Everything he said is a lie." A familiar voice said. Both of them look at where the voice comes from.

"Ashley!" they both said

"What are you talking about? All of it was true. I told you about this right? And why would I lie to the both of you?!" Natsu defended

"See! How can I believe you when you are lying to me again?! How can I give you another chance if you keep on lying on me?! And you even use my father in your story. Unbelievable!" Lucy exclaimed while tears are still flowing from her eyes.

"But Lucy that was the truth." Natsu defended again "Hey Ashley stop messing around!" he said to Ashley whose tears are falling from her eyes also

"You two need to listen to me carefully. It hurts for me to say this but all of the things you know Natsu is a lie!" Ashley said

"Lie? What do you mean?" Natsu asked confused

"What do you mean?" Lucy said approaching her sister

Ashley tries to fight the tears that are falling in her eyes. "I think it's time for this lie to stop. Natsu, the deal you have with my father are all fraud. He really didn't intend to give the company to you."

"I-I am not really going to take the company from your family. I accepted the offer for Lucy." Natsu said

"I know that will be your answer. Lucy, if you are thinking you are the one that is betrayed here, it's not really you, you are just caught up in the situation. It's Natsu who is at the real deal here."

"Huh? I don't get it?" Lucy said

"Papa is behind why these things have happened. He intend for the two of you to get separated because he doesn't like Natsu for you. And this is all because Natsu is the son of Igneel Dragneel." Ashley continued that startled Natsu

"Wait wait what is it to do with my Dad?!" Natsu asked

"It happens 30 years ago. It's really a long time but Dad can never forget what happened that day. Mom and Dad with Luke, our late brother, just came from a birthday party of our cousin here in Japan. They are just going home that night when a tragedy happened...

30 years ago~

"Your niece is really cute." Layla said to Jude. Layla is holding a 6 months old baby boy. This is Luke Heartfilia the first born son of Layla and Jude.

"Yes she is. She resembles her mother very much." Jude said while driving and looks at Layla at the back mirror in front of him.

"I bet Luke would look a lot like you when he grows up." Layla said and touch Luke's sleeping face with her gentle hands

"Well that wouldn't be a problem right? Hahahaha." Jude said and they both laugh

Those laughs faded when a fast running car collide in a matter of seconds without Jude even noticing it. The car came from there front from the second opposite lane. The driver of the car loses his control over the wheel that's why he collided with Jude's car. Everyone was caught in the accident. They were brought to the hospital by the ambulance. A witness called for one the time the accident happened.

"Where is Luke?" Layla said the moment she gain consciousness inside the running ambulance

"Don't worry we have him in our care." A medic said then Layla passed out again

Layla woke up 3 hours after the accident, in a hospital room and Jude is holding his hand. Jude has a broken arm and he has lots of bandages all over his face and arms. Layla also has bandages on her face, arms and legs. She doesn't have any broken bones but only sore muscles and joints.

"Where is Luke? Jude where is Luke?!" Layla said in panic while looking for her son

"Luke is in the ICU." Jude said in teary eyes

"ICU? Why is he there? How is he? How is our son Jude?" Layla said shaking Jude

They both went to see their son in the ICU. Luke just undergoes surgery because there are pieces of broken glasses that went through Luke's skin and head. A doctor came out of the room and Layla immediately talk to him.

"Doctor how was my son?"

"Are you Mrs. And Mr. Heartfilia?" the doctor said

"yes yes we are." Jude said

"Right timing, I was just going to find you to tell you about your son." The doctor said

"What happened to our son?" Layla asked and the doctor bows down his head

"What happened to our son?!" Jude yelled

"I'm sorry but we do what we can do. Your son didn't make through the surgery. Our surgery was a success but he passed away just now 5 minutes after we made the surgery. Excuse me." The doctor said and leaves the two.

Layla mentally breakdown as she falls to her knees. Tears fall through their eyes after they heard the news. Jude went inside the room to look at his son inside the incubator.

"This can't be happening! Do something! My son is not dead yet!" Jude yelled. Layla get into her feet and went inside and takes her son out and embrace it in her arms.

"Luke baby Mama is here." Layla said as she taps the face of Luke, but the baby isn't breathing anymore.

Layla and Jude breakdown into tears and pain as they holds their son's lifeless body.

"Why didn't he tell us about this story before?" Lucy asked

"He said that he just can't bring himself to tell us about Luke because the pain just comes again to him and Mom." Ashley said

"Don't tell me that the one that hit your parent's car was..." Natsu said

"Yes that was your father and because of that accident your father became an ex-convict." Natsu's eyes widen in surprise. He also doesn't know about this thing about his father.

OoO I told you guys I'm going to have a major plot twist in this story. At first I decided that Jude will be a good guy, but I change it because of some readers who still want to continue this story. And now Igneel is caught up in the plot twist. Yeah!!! (Y)
