Chapter 34: I Will Always Love You

Natsu and Lucy plan a surprise for Ashley and Loke. They both went back to the hotel before Ashley and Loke. Natsu and Lucy prepare a dinner date at the hotel's roof top for the two as gratitude for what they have done for them this night. Lucy places arrows and messages from their room to the rooftop. Natsu and Lucy prepares dinner for the two and set things up before calling them. Lucy called Ashley to get back to the hotel and Natsu waits for them at the roof top. When they arrived at their room Ashley read the note that Lucy left for them. 

"Loke and Ashley...go out of your room and follow the arrows on the hallway. -Love lots Lucy" Ashley said reading the letter

"So what are we waiting for? This is so exciting!" Loke said

"Are they planning a surprise for us?" Ashley asked

"I hope so. Come on." Loke said and grab Ashley's hand and walk out their room. They follow the arrow and saw both of Natsu and Lucy waiting for them. 

"I knew it! You guys are up to something." Ashley said as they saw a table setting for a candle lit dinner.

"Were so sorry. We just want to thank you for tonight." Natsu said

"You don't have to do this." Ashley said

"Oh...don't be like that. Come on sit." Loke said approaching the table and pull out a seat for Ashley

Ashley slowly walk through the table and sit on the chair

"Thank you guys." Loke said

"Thank you." Ashley said also

"It was nothing. So we are going to leave you guys now. Enjoy your dinner." Lucy said and they both went back to their room

Ashley and Loke appreciates the effort of the two. They have a great dinner and a great night.

"I'm so happy!" Lucy said and jump on to the bed

"Me too because this night can get any better." Natsu said and joined Lucy on the bed and kissed her on her cheek then to her nose then on her lips

"Hey cut it out." Lucy said

"I don't want to." Natsu said teasing her

 But that night was suppose to end happy and great but a certain phone call changes everything. 

"Who was that?" Loke asked

"We need to go to the hospital now!" Ashley said and grab her things and they both went to Natsu and Lucy's room. Ashley knock and knock really hard on their door.

"I'll get it." Natsu said annoyed. He opened the door and find that Ashley's furios and worried face

"The hospital just called. Papa has been taken to the ICU!" Ashley said and no further ado they all went to the hospital.

Jude is still inside the ER and they all wait outside the room. Ashley can't ease herself, she's walking back and forth worrying about the condition of her father.

"It's going to be alright." Lucy said to her twin

Inside the ER, Jude is under going a surgery. His pulse rate is slowing down and the doctors are charging electricity through his body to recover.

"Clear..." the doctor said

"All clear." They nurses said and the doctor pulse the electricity on to his chest but still the pulse rate machine is still on a horizontal line

The doctor tried it many times but...it seems that it is his time to go. The doctor went out the operating room and Ashley and the others went to him.

The doctor is putting up an upset look in his eyes that he can't even look at Ashley.

"What happened to my father?!" Ashley said and grab the doctors lab coat

"You are the daughters of Jude Heartfilia?" The doctor asked

"Yes we are doc. How is he? Is he gonna be alright?" Lucy asked while Loke is trying to calm down Ashley

"I'm sorry to say this but...the tumor on his brain has grown so big that we cannot remove it anymore. I'm sorry for you loss. Excuse me." The doctor said and excuse himself

"What...?" Ashley said and slowly break down to the ground

"Natsu..."Lucy said and cried on Natsu's shoulders. Natsu hold her tightly while Lucy loudly cry on him

"This isn't true...he can't be dead... He still need to see me and Lucy on our wedding..." Ashley said while tears started to flow on her eyes

"Ashley...I know he will be." Loke said and lock her up on his arms.

The next day...

Lucy and Ashley went back to the hospital to fix everything. While looking at Jude's hospital room for the last time, a nurse went in and hand something to the twins.

"I found it yesterday under his bed. It is a letter address to Ms. Ashley and Lucy Heartfilia." The nurse said and left the room

Ashley opened the letter and begun reading it.

"Ashley, Lucy, if you are reading this that means that I'm no longer with you. I'm together with your mother now. I'm sorry that I leave you behind without saying goodbye. I'm sorry that I didn't even get to attend and walk you both in the aisle on your wedding. I'm sorry that Papa is not a great father to both of you. But remember this, Papa always love you both.

Ashley, as the older sister please take care of Lucy. Even though I know that she can take care of herself now. Please be by her side whenever she needs you. Love Loke as your husband and as a good wife to him. Don't stress yourself too much in your work. Have time for yourself also. Go to the beach and relax. And please forgive me for everything. I love you very much my daughter.

Lucy, my darling, please forgive Papa for what he have done. I didn't think of what will make you happy. All I think about is my happiness for you. Please apologize to Natsu-san and Igneel in my stead. Now that I'm gone please take care of yourself, your sister and of course Natsu-san. I just hope that I've heard your laugh and see your smile as you tell me that Natsu-san already proposed to you. I love you very much Lucy!

I want to be with you both for a little longer, but I guess that it's my time already. I hope that you have forgiven your Papa. I have so much to tell you both but I can't even hold a pen properly. I will always love you, Ashley, Lucy...

Ashley and Lucy both cried as Ashley read their father's letter to them. Once Ashley finished reading the letter, she give her sister a tight and comforting yet sorrowful feeling.

"I've already forgive you Papa. You don't have to apologize! I understand everything that you do is for us. I love you too Papa." Lucy said between sobs

Ashley just keep what she wants to say to her father. 'I will do as you said. I'm sorry for being a bad daughter to you. I love you too Papa.'

T^T I'm literally crying but I can't let it out while writing this because I'm in school today and I don't want to cry in front of this people. T^T
