Chapter 29: Dad

"It's true that I'm going to die. This is my karma Ashley. I have a stage 4 tumor cancer. I did have a real illness but I didn't notice it. I'm a bad guy for doing something like that. I didn't know that it will also affect you." Jude said

"You think? Lucy is my twin sister; she's like the half of me. Whatever she feels, is what I feel." Ashley said with tears flowing in her eyes.

"I'm no good as your father. I'm sorry." Jude said holding Ashley's hand

"Since when?" Ashley asked

"When? Do you mean my condition?" Jude said. He let go of Ashley's hand and pause for a bit and look straight at the ceiling. "The doctor said that I already have these 3 years ago, but I don't feel anything until last year. I get lots of migraines and I pass out a lot, that was the time I discovered that I have a tumor in my brain." Jude said and looks straight into Ashley's teary eyes. He tried to reach Ashley's face and wipe her tears. "I'm sorry Ashley. I don't know if you will forgive me for what I have done, but always remember that I'm really proud of you and Lucy. I love you both." Jude said

"Papa..."

Ashley's POV

I don't know how to tell Lucy about Papa's condition. We both went home after Natsu left to talk to his father about what I told him.

"Ashley!" Lucy yelled that snap me out

"Huh wah?"

"You've been spacing out again. I asked you is Dad doing alright in Paris? How is he? He not sick isn't he?" Lucy asked

"About Dad's condition Lucy..."

"What is it about him?"

"No nothing." I said. I was really nervous I don't know how she will react to it, if I say it to her now.

"So what did you and Loke do in Paris? Aside from visiting Dad." she asked while taking water out of the fridge.

"What?! Nothing!" I asked

"Ashley are you okay? You're not yourself today. Is it because of Natsu?" she asked handing me a glass of water

"No. I'm not worrying about that. I'm alright; I think I just need to take a rest." I said and drink the glass of water and head upstairs and to my room.

I lie on my bed and put my arm above my eyes. I don't want Lucy to be sad again now that I already patch things up with her and Natsu. But still I don't want to keep this a secret from her. I don't know what I should do.

I got up and get my phone from my bag. "Loke." I call Loke.

"What is it baby?" he said

"Stop calling me that. I'm not in the mood for lovey dovey." I said in a pissed tone while crossing my brows

"I'm sorry. Why are you crossed?" he asked

"Just thinking of something. What is my schedule for tomorrow?"

"You have a meeting with—"

"Cancel that. Actually cancel all my scheduled meeting for tomorrow." I said cutting him off.

"Why? This is a very important meeting with the board of directors about our annual meeting." Loke said that makes me more pissed

"I don't care! Re-scheduled it!" I yelled and hang up

We are going to see Papa again, that's why. I pack the thing I will need and I went to Lucy's room after I finished my luggage. "Lucy." I knock in her open door. She's already preparing her stuffs.
