Chapter 8: You Left

It's 10:30 pm. I guess everyone is asleep now. I went out of my car and opened the door of our house. I see that the kitchen's light is on. I went there and saw my Dad taking his coffee.

"Dad. Why are you still up?" I asked

"Natsu, I was waiting for you." He said

"Waiting for me? Why are you waiting for me?" I said and sit down across him

"Gray called earlier. He said that you might need someone to talk to. I'm here son, you can tell me everything. I might help you." He said and stood up. He went to make a coffee.

"Dad I really want to talk to you. I'm just finding the exact timing to tell you." I said and intertwined my hands on the table. I gulp and squeeze my hand. I don't know what will be his reaction if I tell him this.

He gets back to the table and gives the cup of coffee to me. "So what is it that you want to tell me?" He said

"Dad, I'm the CEO of END company. My friend from America handed it over to me. I was surprised at first but it is written in his will. Dad I'm sorry if I just tell it to you." I said and bow my head to him

"I know Natsu." I lift my head and look at him

"You know?"

"Yes. I overheard a conversation between you and the person you are talking over the phone. It seems that you are ordering him to make something business related. I got curious about your job because you never told us about it. I followed you to your company and ask there who you are in that company. I was surprised that you are the owner of that company. I didn't tell you because I want you to tell me what your job is. I'm so proud of you son." He said and holds my hand. I know it's a sign of weakness but my tears just fall from my eyes.

"Dad, you know this is not what I want right?"

"I know son. And I also know that it will be hard for you because of Lucy. I know you are strong Natsu. You can fix everything up. Just talk to her and explain everything to her. But first you need some explaining to do first with me. What happened 6 years ago? You never tell us the reason why you left. I know you are hiding something from us Natsu. You only tell us what happened on your studies and nothing more. Now tell me everything." He said seriously. I wipe my tears and take a deep breath.

"Dad, it's because of Lucy's father. He is the one that asked me to go to America to study and not the school."

"What?" I tell Dad everything about our deal. And I know by the look of his eyes that I did make a wrong decision.

"I'm sorry Dad. I know I can't bring up the past and I've ruined everything."

"No son, it's not your fault, you just want to help them. But still..."

"I know Dad and I am here to atone for my sins to all of you."

"Sins? Natsu, why do keep on blaming yourself for this?!" Dad yelled

"Lucy hates me and I don't know if she will ever forgive me for leaving her."

Next day~

"Sir. Dragneel you also have a meeting with the American Investors this morning." Lucy reports my schedule for today. I just can't take my eyes off her. Will she ever forgive me?

"Yeah. Thank you. Say! Gray and Juvia already have kids huh." I said opening up a conversation

She was surprised and looks at me. Her eyes change to those sad look again.

"Everything changed, many things happened. You don't know anything about it because...you left." She said with a poker face.

"Do you still need something Sir. Dragneel?"
