Chapter Twenty - Two

Evelyn's pov

Spring break was awful. All I did was lay in bed, text with Cassie and sometimes go out to eat. Karen usually asks if I need anything, but I just don't want anything. I just need to do nothing. Liam is with me the entire time. Niall asks him to hang out sometimes, but he just says no. Niall did come over one time though and they hung out downstairs, so that if something was up, Liam could get to me easily. He is furious though. But he agrees that we shouldn't go to the police. They threatened that they'd kill us if we did that and although I hate my life right now, I don't want to die. Liam doesn't either. He is also scared they'd go after his mum again. And I understand that. Tomorrow is the day that school begins again though. I'm scared. And so is Cassie. Mason has been with Cassie ever since he came back 2 days ago. He is mad as well. Liam and him are talking a lot as well right now. They want to do something, but they don't know what. And I don't know either. I just want this to end, I don't want to feel like this anymore. But I think I have to. Thom isn't just going to stop and I can't do anything. I can go to the police,  but I don't think that will stop him. He has his ways.

And now, spring break is over, and we have to face Thom again.

I'm sitting in Liam's car, waiting till he starts driving. He is just staring. I think he is finally afraid. Afraid of what Thom will do to me. Finally, Liam starts the car and starts driving. I just stare out the window, something that I've done ever since things started. It's the only moment I get when I just can stare without thinking something is going to happen. I then just notices, that he passed our school. I frown.
'Liam, where are you going?' he doesn't answer. Then, he takes an exit, to the airport. He parks his car and gets out. I just sit. What the hell is he up to ? Liam opens my door. I look and see two suitcases.
'Last night, I went to your house and got your passport. I called everyone involved and they all thought it was a good idea. While Thom, Danielle and Tyler are expecting us, we have enough time to get out of here, without them noticing. They are all coming, Cassie, Mason, Amy, Eleanor and Niall. We're leaving, we're going to be safe' my mouth falls open. I hated the idea of running away last time, but I think it's actually a good idea, this time.
'Where are we going?' I ask him. He starts smiling.
'Orlando' I nod and get out of the car. Liam locks it and we start walking towards the departing hall. When we get there, I see all of them. We all hug and are smiling. For the first time in forever, even Cassie is smiling. We check in and go to security. We quickly make our way to the gate and board the plane. We sit down and watch the plane door closing. At that moment, I've never felt so safe.

*2 days later*

I walk down to the kitchen of the house we rented. It even has a pool. Liam and I have a bedroom upstairs, the rest downstairs. I grab a lemonade and make my way to the pool. We decided to should just swim and relax. Tomorrow, we're going to see if we can go to school here. Liam apparently told Karen everything and she was okay with it. She went to see Liam's sister. I didn't even know he had a sister. They hate each other, that's why they never mentioned her. But I don't care. I'm really happy right now. In those two days we've been here, nobody has heard from Thom, or Danielle for that matter. We're all in a great mood. I've been looking for jobs, to help pay for the house. They are offering a job in Sea World, to take care of the dolphins.  I applied for that, but I haven't heard from them yet. Anyway, live is finally getting better. I think Eleanor and Niall are getting a long great. Niall sleeps alone while Amy and Eleanor are sharing a room. Mason and Cassie share a room as well. I walk into the garden and sit down. Amy and Eleanor are in the pool with Niall. Cassie and Mason are sunning and Liam is just sitting. He looks up when he sees me and hugs me. I kiss him and decide to go for a swim as well. I jump into the pool and play along with the rest. They're playing with a pool ball we bought. Liam then jumps in as well and then Mason and Cassie decide to join as well. I can't believe that we're away from Thom. I didn't even think it was this easy. Just get in a plane and leave. I'm glad Liam made this decision for me. I don't think I would've made it myself and I don't even know why. Why would I want to stay there ? I have nothing left there. My friends are here, my boyfriend is here and that's everyone I had left. All because Thom. But now, I don't have to worry about him anymore. We can all move on with our lives. Finally.

I get out of the pool and sit down again. I let myself dry up and then just start reading a book. My phone then buzzes. I shoot up. Maybe it's Sea World. But then I see unknown. My heart starts pounding and my hands start sweating. I freeze. Liam looks up and runs over to me. He opens the text and freezes too. I quickly grab it and read it.
'What does it say?' Eleanor asks.
'You run, I kill. Look at the picture and you see who. Kisses, Thom' I read out loud. I open the picture and tears start running down my cheek. I see everyone waiting for me to tell them who it is.
'It's Amber'

I'm sorry it took me a while, had to think for an idea. Also, the middle part really sucks but it's just a fill in chapter.

I don't know when I'll be able to update again, but I hope soon. Thank you all for reading !
