Chapter Eleven

It's the next day and I'm walking through school with a stupid bandage on my neck. I also have bruises on my arms. Yesterday, Liam brought me home, without saying a single word. He just drove, and drove away again. He shouldn't be mad at me, it's not like I could do anything about it. I texted Liam a few times, but he isn't answering. 

I open my locker and put the picture in it with Liam at Eleanor's mums wedding. I keep pictures in my locker. There are pictures with Amber, Eleanor, Harry and Louis. Some with just Eleanor, some with just Amber. And now, one with Liam. 
"Eve?" I hear a voice. I turn around and see Amy. 
"Oh hi" I say with a smile. 
"What happened to your neck?" she asks me. I just look at her. 
"Oh no, Thom did that, didn't he?" she asks. I nod slowly. She immediately hugs me. 
"I'm so sorry!" she says. 
"It's okay. He came out of nowhere. Liam saved me though" Amy smiles at that. 
"He is ignorning me now though, do you know why?" I ask Amy, while I go back at grabbing my books. 
"No, I saw him walking and he completely ignored me too" she says. I nod slowly. 
"Are you with us with lunch?" I nod. 
"Yea sure" she smiles. 
"Amy" I look up when Amy turns and I see Danielle. She looks pissed. 
"You dumped me to talk to this bitch" I raise my eyebrow. I knew she didn't like me. 
"She's not a bitch, you are" Amy simply says. Danielle's mouth drops open a bit. 
"I thought you were my friend" she says. 
"Yea that was before I figured things out" I frown. Danielle quickly looks at me and back to Amy. 
"You're gonna regret this" Danielle just says and walks away. Amy turns back to me. 
"What was that about ? What did you figure out?" I ask her. 
"At lunch please" Amy says and walks away. I turn around to look at her. She's walking quickly. She's hiding something. When I turn back, Liam is standing next to my locker. I don't say anything, but just turn to my locker. I put my last book in my bag and throw my locker shut. 
"Hey" Liam says. I frown. 
"You've been ignoring me" I say. He nods. 
"I'm sorry, but I had to cool down" he says. 
"I got mad and I thought that if I talked to you, I'd say things I'd regret later so yea" 
"You could've just told me that" I say. Liam nods. He kisses me softly. 
"I'm sorry" 
"It's okay" Liam grabs my hand and we walk together to first period. 

It's lunch time and Liam and I walk over to the table. Cassie, Amy, Mason and Niall are already there. Tyler and Danielle aren't. Liam and I sit down. I turn to Amy. 
"Amy" I just say and she nods. 
"Liam, you might wanna listen to" Amy says. Liam turns his attention to her. 
"So, I've been noticing Danielle being really weird lately, so I went and did some digging. I followed her and Tyler yesterday. I saw them talking to Thom. Tyler and Danielle basically pushed Thom to hurt you Eve. I don't know why, I couldn't hear that, but they're on to something. They wanna hurt you, so yea, that's what I've been figuring out" Amy explains. I look at Liam and see an expression in his eyes I haven't seen before. It kinda scares me. 
"Liam" I almost whisper. He looks at me and his expression softens. 
"I'll protect you babe" he just says, probably hearing my concern in my voice. I nod. 
"EVE!" I hear. I look behind me and see Eleanor running towards me. I stand up and Eleanor almost attacks me in a hug. She is shaking. 
"El, what's going on?" I ask her. 
"That Thom guy happened" she says. I frown. 
"What?" 
"He attacked Harry and Amber" Eleanor says. My eyes widen. 
"What ?! Are they okay?" she nods. 
"Yea, Harry fought back and kinda won" she whispers. 
"Lou helped Harry and I got Amber away. Why was he attacking us?" she asks me. 
"Because he wants to hurt me" I say. 

I'm walking through the hallways. I told Liam to wait outside for me, I knew that if I was alone, he'd show up. And I was right. 
"What are you doing here, all alone?" I hear his voice. I look behind me and see him walking towards me. His eye is a bit purple and he has a cut on his lip. 
"Nice eye" I say, knowing it's from Liam's fist from yesterday. He glares at me. 
"I wanna know why you'd hurt Harry and Amber" I say. 
"Because hurting them means hurting you" 
"I thought you just wanted to protect me from Liam" I say. He frowns. 
"That was the plan" he says. 
"But then Tyler and Danielle came along didn't they?" 
"They have nothing to do with this" 
"Oh please, everyone can figure it out. Don't pretend that I'm stupid"  I say. 
"I don't have to pretend. You're with Liam Payne, that makes you pretty stupid" he says with a smirk on his face. 
"Just leave my friends alone" I say and turn around. I quickly walk towards Liam's car, where he is standing. 
"Everything alright babe?" he asks and I just nod. I get in his car and sigh. 
"What's up?" 
"I need to find a way to protect Eleanor, Louis, Amber and Harry" I say. Liam sighs as well. 
"I have a way, but you're not gonna like it" he says. I look at him. 
"Spill" I say. 
"You could tell them you don't wanna be friends anymore. That way, they won't be near you, which means Thom can't hurt them" I sigh. 
"I hate that idea" I mumble. 
"I know" Liam whispers. He grabs my hand. 
"But you should think about it. It might be the only way to keep them save" I nod. 
"I know" I whisper.
