A few months ago:

Susan's POV

I rubbed my temples yet again, desperately hoping that this headache would stop. I had barely slept a wink last night. I'd finally plucked up the courage to tell Emma that I was her mother, but she hadn't taken it well. I could only hope that in time she would come to forgive me and that we could have a relationship. The whole situation was made worse by the fact that Andrew had found out that I was back in contact with Emma and Stuart. He hadn't taken the news well.

I peered over the desk and frowned as I saw Andrew standing in front of me.

"Hiya." he said.

"Hi." I answered nervously.

"I just came to say that you can do whatever you want with your children, I won't stand in the way." he said quietly.

"That's not what you said last night." I frowned, remembering how angry he'd been and how he told me that he should be my priority.

"Well I don't want something like this to come between us, so I have decided to back off." he stated shortly.

"Thanks, I really appreciate it." I smiled at him.

"I'd better get to work, I'll see you later." he said as he turned and walked away.

Caleb's POV

As Connie walked away from me, I glared at her retreating back. Why did she have to be on my case all the time, couldn't she just back off for once? Knowing her that wasn't likely to happen.

I sighed and wandered into the staff room.

"Hey." my girlfriend Andrea said.

"What are you doing here?!" I exclaimed.

"Visiting my boyfriend." she winked.

"And I made him a coffee." she added as she handed me a mug of coffee.

"Thanks." I smiled.

"I thought I'd wait for you to finish." she smiled.

"My shift doesn't finish for another couple of hours yet." I told her.

"Oh." she said, her face falling slightly.
"I'll wait for you." she added hopefully.

"Won't you be a bit bored?" I smiled.

"I'll find something to do." she said.

Andrea's POV

As I wandered around the hospital I knew that something had to be done. I couldn't stand what was happening. I'd spent precious years of my life searching for my mother and just as we'd started getting to know each other, she'd moved away. After spending months wondering what I could possibly have done to make her move away..I'd finally uncovered the truth. She'd moved away from me and yet here she was playing happy families with that nurse who I assumed was my sister. As soon as I'd seen the name Emma Chambers on her name tag, I'd put two and two together. How could Mum do that to me?

I watched as I saw the doctor giving my Mother some Codeine and place the vial into his pocket. An idea struck me. I quickly walked back into the staff room and waited....

As Ethan made his way into the staff room, I quickly walked towards the doorway.

"Sorry." I muttered as I bumped into him.

I quickly reached my hand into his pocket and pulled the vial out. I needed to be quick, before Ethan noticed the vial was missing. I quickly walked to the store room and took a needle and syringe. I drew up the Codeine at record speed.

I walked past Ethan in the corridor and subtly slipped the vial back into his pocket.

Susan's POV

As I glanced at the clock I breathed a sigh of relief as I saw that my shift was finally over. It had been an awkward day, being around Ethan and Emma. I couldn't wait to get home to chill out, plus my wrist was killing me.

I turned my jacket up against the wind and began the long walk home. I glanced around as the streetlights cast shadows on the street. The nights were definitely starting to draw in. I turned left and made my way into the subway. It always gave me the creeps but it was the fastest way home.

I jumped as someone dressed all in black stood in front of me.

"Andrea." I whispered in relief.

"Hi Mum, long time no see." she said as she slowly walked towards me.

I frowned as I saw a strange look on her face that I couldn't quite interpret.

"Andrea what are you doing?!" I exclaimed as she grabbed hold of me.

I tried to fight back but she was to strong for me, especially with an injured wrist. I yelped as I felt a piercing pain in my arm and she instantly let go of me as I fell to the ground.

"What did you inject me with?" I asked as she stood over me, a smirk on her face.

"A high dose of Codeine, you'll be dead in a few hours." she stated.

She smiled again and quickly left. I felt an intense pain in my abdomen as the drugs began to take effect. I pulled out my phone and cursed when I saw that I had no signal. I was to weak to stand and yelling for help would be useless, as no one would be around to hear me. No one would even be out looking for me, Andrew would just assume that I had to work late. I had to do something. Think Susan think I told myself over and over again. At least if I was going to die, I could help ensure that she was brought to justice. I had an idea. I pulled the lipstick out of my handbag, and smiled at it. Hopefully Emma would recognise that it was the same one she'd given me not that long ago.

I leant over and slowly wrote Andrea's name on the floor, as I gradually became weaker and more frail.

I glanced at the name, I couldn't complete it, I was to frail. I laid down, closed my eyes and waited for the inevitable....
